I'm considering starting out with a 510 to see if vaping works for me. A pcc seems like a neat accessory, but are they worth the money? That is--do they last very long before they won't hold a charge and can the battery be replaced?

Been using mine for over a month and its still going strong. I have no idea how long it will last, but when it finally goes i'll just get a new one. I would not suggest changing the battery unless you feel like becoming a modding buff :) as they are not designed to be changed.

Welome bushmaster! :) The 510 is a great ecig and I would certainly recommend it. And yes, the PCC is well worth the money especially when you are out and about. You won't be left with a dead battery. THE PCC takes about 4 hours to charge and it will charge approximately 5 battery's before the PCC itself needs to be recharged. I am not sure about replacing the battery in the PCC. Someone else will have to answer that question but I still think that they are well worth the money. Good Luck!

Hmm, does that change when you put it in the wall charger?

Nope, takes just as long. but I don't carry a wall charger with me either just about 5 batteries since they slip in my pocket real easy.

Nothing against the PCC, I'd probably use it more if I didn't have easy access to my wall chargers all day long. Only time I can't use them is when I'm out to the movies or the bar or event or something. So 5 batteries do me well.

If I carried a bag I'd probably carry by pcc much more. Just that my back pockets are already full with phone and wallet :)

OK! Thanks, and sorry for the hijack. Makes more sence now.

Got the wive a PCC for her 510's and she used it for a bit. I'm a big battery mod kind of vaper and it seems to be rubbing off on her. She still uses it when she feels prissy and wants to vape the small slender 510, at least it keeps a little battery charged for her to use. I'm working om a walking cane E-cig combo, something that gives huge vape for a real long time on a single charge, couple of 18650's in series to give big vape and last all day. Make it out of a metal walking cane that both vapes big and whacks big when needed. Kinda like the Louisville Slugger of PV's. For hanging around the bad side of the tracks!

If that skidder you operate has a cigarette lighter in it I would recommend getting a usb passthrough and a 12 volt to usb adapter then you don't have to worry about batteries.

Hmmm, thats not a bad idea. I'd have to get a doubler for my lighter plug so I still have a place to plug in my satellite radio. Then get some of the big cartridges, I guess.

I use mine every nite to make sure I always have a fresh battery for morning, not to mention when I'm out and about. IMO the batteries take just as long to charge in the PCC as in the wall charger, no longer, no quicker. I really like mine, it has saved me from backsliding to the stinkies more than once. As matter of fact I just posted my redneck mod for charging the mega batteries (too long) in them, lol. I'm talking, really redneck so no laughing...

When I got my first 510 starter kit I ordered a PCC. I thought it was great. I always kept a spare battery in it and on more than one occasion it charged my batteries for almost 24 hours without having to recharge the actual PCC.

I found that it charged a battery in the same amount of time the wall charger did. I was also able to keep it charging in my car using the USB to cigarette lighter plug thingie (sorry, I don't know the technical name for it - lol)

I'm on the go a lot, so it came in handy for me. I did also keep a total of 3 or 4 charged batteries with me, just in case. They are pretty small and it's easy to find something to carry them in.

(KellsBells - I read your post about rigging it to charge your mega battery and I thought it was brilliant! :) )

A vaping/wacking cane! hahaha I love that idea!

It's one of the best things they've come up with. I think it's well worth the money, although I don't use mine much anymore because I'm using a big battery mod. However, if I need to actually go somewhere and not look like I'm sucking on a tool of some sort, I do take the PCC. I don't see why you wouldn't get at least a year out of it (if not 2) and then just get another one. I don't know if it would make that much sense to try to replace the battery, though. I guess the only thing not great about it is the almost sharp metal corners.

There's also that bit where it holds a spare atomizer and 2 loaded carts.

Spare atomizer if your primary fails or if you need 2 -- I tried atomic cinnacide and it's great but you're not going to be able to use a different flavor unless you clean it first.

I can be more convenient to carry 2 loaded carts rather than a small bottle of juice and refilling on the go.

How long will the 5pcs batteries last?

vaporsuck - that will depend on how much the person vapes. For me personally, when I'm at my computer or hanging out - I pretty much suck on it all the time, so I would swap out a 510 battery every 45 minutes to an hour... maybe longer...

SO - with 5 batteries on hand, and one always charging in the PCC - you can get many hours of non-stop vaping because one battery is always fully charged and ready to swap in about 30 minutes in the PCC. I never drained my 510 batteries totally dead. I just got into the habit of putting on a fresh one pretty often.

It really depends on the person, and their vaping style.

Someone mentioned the eGo (the Tornado is the exact same PV re-branded by a different supplier) - it uses standard 510 atomizers but I get about 10 hours on one battery. So having a fully charged eGo battery with you as your back-up can get you on average about 20 hours.

I can go out at night with one eGo battery and not have to swap it out at all...
I've even gone to sleep, and used the same battery in the morning before I swap it out for the charged one.

It's really hard to predict what anyone's vaping style will be - how much they vape, how often, etc. and it takes a little playing around to settle into a comfortable routine or habit. Starting with the basic 510 for me was really the best choice I could have made.

It got me comfortable with the whole process and into a comfortable routine. I only made the decision to upgrade to the eGo/Tornado because it's a lot easier for me with the odd hours and schedule I need to be on.

Everyone is different, has different needs, preferences, styles ... so it's hard to predict what will be the best until you get started and settle in with the whole process :)

I decided to hold off till I got more familiar with the 510. I figured I needed to buy spare batteries anyway and those got me through. In the mean time I built the http://www.madvapes.com/Default.aspx version of the nicostick and now I don't use the stock batteries much at all. It just works so much better.
