My small victory? Im here to give it another shot! Still smoking, but its going good so far. Below quote from another thead.

I just bought the gold version(Merlin Mini) yesterday. I am a total newb though, so ill have to do some reading. I started with ego's, eventually going back to smoking. In the last 2 weeks I bought a Tarot Nano(meh, ok, but not what I was looking for, and got spit back so had to look for something else) and now a smok Alien. I absolutely love this mod!! Taking a bit to get used to DL hits, but im coming around pretty fast. Love the baby beast so much, I bought the big baby. I thought to myself yesterday, hey, I came this far and really want to quit smoking, why not try an rta? So I looked around and this looks right up my alley. Ill be reading this thread and some others to learn how to get started.

2 years ago I contracted Lyme disease and things have been rough. I wanna thank all you folks for what you do here. Living with a chronic disease isnt easy, and trying to quit smoking while dealing with it is harder than most will ever know. Appreciate all the knowledge here, it gives me hope. Thank you!

I had a small victory saving a Pico from certain death. We had a wicked Nor'Easter blow through here earlier in the week. Heavy rain, very high winds, but at least is was above freezing so we didn't get a blizzard. I had to run some errands and got home soaked like a drowned rat.

Pulled my Pico out and the outside was a bit wet (yes, water did get into my pocket, probably from trying to warm up my cold wet hands in there). Started to wipe it down and saw some water coming out of the bottom vent holes.:-x
Popped the battery out, which seemed dry, shook out the mod and tucked it away to dry. Replaced the battery after 3 days and all's well in Picoland.

The lesson, if your mod gets wet, don't hit the fire button to see if it still works, because if you do it will likely crap out with the current flow. Leave it to dry (those silica packs come in handy to hlep speed things up if you put it all in a baggie) and there's a chance you'll be OK.

Same can be said for almost anything with a circuit board, problem is people that don't know almost always fire stuff up to see if it still works >.<

I live on a lake, inlaws own a marina up the street, people are always dropping stuff in the water.... Always tell them the same thing... Pull the battery... Dry it as best as you can... Leave it in the sun for a week before trying to turn it on...

Monday will be 2 months smoke-free for me!

And I agree that the fact that we've all survived another week is a victory as well!

Congrats!!
You have a lot to look forward to...your sense of smell and taste will improve with time, no more smoker's cough, etc.....
We all started with one day, one week, one month, many months, and so forth...the time adds up fast.

I'm new here. I'm 52, started smoking at 10yrs old. Now 40 days since my last cigarette. I bought a Joyetech eGo AIO on December 17. I had strep throat and still tried to smoke. My throat couldn't take it.
This is the longest I've been smoke free. I tried patches, gum and prescriptions, nothing worked for more than two weeks, until now.
I'm bouncing between 6-12mg nicotine from a 2 pack/day smoking habit. The best part? I got my wife to join me. The worst part? My farts can tear the stripe off a skunk[emoji40]
