One of our local nursing homes here in town went tobacco free for their staff back in the summer. As of last month they have amended their status and are allowing the use of PV's and smokeless tobacco products as long as they are not used in patient areas. They are allowing the staff to use PV's and smokeless tobacco products while in the breakroom, bathroom or one of the offices. Since there are no residents there that smoke they wanted to keep things out of sight of the residents and their families who have made it clear that they don't want smoking or tobacco around their loved ones. It's a small victory, but a victory none the less for all concerned.

LOL ... look at me already rushing this year along, I was thinking it was already February, they started allowing PV use the first part of this month ... my sister-in-law is using her PV that we gave her for X-mas there, the best present we could have given I'm thinking.

Here, there, everywhere!
That is awesome! And I feel like as long as us vapers are corteous to others that don't understand it or do think it is harmful to others that we will continue to see more of these positive actions.

The office I work allows me to vape at my desk, the guys chew and they say that is a lot nastier than my vaping. I am just cautious and pay attention as to whether we have visitors inhouse. If we do I go outside.

That is exactly how we should be using our PV's. Until most people know what they are and we have proof positive of their safety to those around us, we should always be respectful of those around us. Hubby and I always ask before we vape in traditionally non-smoking places and many times once we have explained what the PV's are and what is in them, we are usually given the ok to use them as long as no one complains about them. So far, no one has once the waiter or waitress has told them what we are using.

I wouldn't classify this as a small victory...
I think it's an excellent testimonial for E-cigarettes as safe to use indoors.
Not only indoors but indoors at a nursing home! The nursing home management
deserves a round of applause.

My sister-in-law said her DON is thinking of getting one and another one of the nurses she works with is wanting to get one too. :D
