I haven't really posted a whole lot the last few months in this subforum so I decided to start a new thread. How do you figure out what to spend on this hobby?

Personally, I've diy'ed my juice for quite awhile and have a supply of nic in the freezer that will last a couple of years. I build my mods so I don't blow a whole lot on them unless I see one that tickles my fancy. I do tend to get a new atty every couple of months. Other than that, I replenish building supplies and flavorings as needed.

The thought came to start this thread when I was reviewing my discover statement earlier and looking back at the last few months, it looks like I average about $35 a month on this hobby after I sold off my first bit of 'ooo-shiny' gear from first venturing in. I guess I've settled in on what I like.

How about you?

After mod purchases I average about $75 a month in juice, coils, wire and cotton...sometime a little more when I get a new tank, batteries or a RDA.. Still alot cheaper than buying four cartons of Marlboro a month, lol

I'm a Vapocalypse type of vaper ... I don't have a vape budget.

I could vape for years without buying anything ... I vape for mere pennies per day :vapor:
Honestly, I could do the same because I'm stock piled pretty good. That damned RDA Round Table thread just gets me every once in awhile. Haha

In theory, I have $40 a week deposited to a prepaid Mastercard that I am supposed to use for vape-related purchases.

In practice, I have the impulse control of a four-year-old.

Although my rate of device acquisition has slowed, I compensate by buying more expensive things.

I've only been vaping since Sept 7th, 2015, and I did not start with a budget in mind. I set out to find out all that I could about vaping ASAP. I do not know what I've spent, but purchases are way down. I have purchased around 2,500ml of e-liquids, but within the next few weeks, I'll begin to make my own e-liquids. I do not know what my costs will be to get started in DIY liquids, but I'd imagine that I am going to be far below $50/month after I start production. I've also purchased the following, which I think is a good beginners setup:

1 - Sigelei 75W box mod (1 - 18650 battery)
1 - Sigelei 150W box mod (2 - 18650 batteries)

1 - TrustFire; 2 battery charger
1 - NITECORE: Intellicharger; 4 battery charger

10 - 18650 Samsung batteries and 4 plastic containers for them.

1 - Aspire Triton Clearomizer, Sub-Ohm
1 - Package of 5, Aspire 0.4 ohm atomizers

4- Aspire Atlantis II Clearomizer, Sub-Ohm
1 - Package of 5, Aspire 0.5 ohm atomizers (DON'T BUY AGAIN: this coil burns up without even trying)
2 - Package of 5, Aspire 1.0 ohm atomizers
3 - Package of 5, Aspire 0.3 ohm atomizers (The best coil for the Sigelei 75W: lasts a long time)
1 - Replacement Aspire Atlantis II Clearomizer Tank (5ml: $10 with stainless tip)
2 - Accessories Aspire Atlantis II Rubber seal gaskets

1 - Mako Shorty RDA, with store fabricated coils
1 - Cotton Bacon 0.35oz, cotton for wicks of RDA
1 - UD - Youde Technology - Diagonal Pliers for coils
1 - UD - Youde Technology - Roll Coils, 25GA, 10m, Kanthal, nichrome, pure nickel
1 - Ohm Tester

NEED TO ORDER:
1 - Small "watch" screwdriver set
1 - A gauge to wrap coils around

At the beginning, no budget. Truly, i would have paid anybody anything (within my ability to get it) in order to quit smoking. I really wanted to quit smoking pretty bad. So I bought whatever I needed to get the job done.

IMHO, new vapers should just go for it. :) It is a special time in your life that you will look back on and only comes once, really, in that sense.

Of course, some people are happy with less, some need more and more......so in budget terms, I think that can really vary~~~

Now, 3 years later..........$20 a month? for me.

I don't have a vape budget. I DIY most of my liquid but Juice Mafia's Toro Blue has been getting about $40 bucks a month from me for the past 3 months. Hardware wise, not much. I'm always on the lookout for back ups. Recently bought a 50W device to see what the big deal is with regulated but I don't find it satisfying so I'll probably PIF it.

Vape budget. Dont really have one. But, ... probably should.
I spend... probably about 100$ on juice a month... Maybe a bit less, I spent 200$ a month ago, and I still have alot of those 6 bottles. So maybe about 70$ a month on juice?
And ... I spend probably about 50$ a month on gear... Couple RDA clones here and there.

My vape budget is cheap, cheap, cheap. So I think I am like you, settled in and happy. I buy premixed eliquid unflavored at a super cheap price and add a drop of super cheap flavor if I want it....I've been on the same coil and wick for a few months now. I'm happy with my REO, readyXwick, and unflavored. I think it costs me less than $4 a week. I had a bad habit when just beginning of having to try anything I could get by with purchasing that did not look like I spent a lot of $$ to hubby...glad that is over.
