Another noob question. Thanks for being so patient with me! I've been reading this forum a lot, but I'm still a little confused on when, how, and why to use these ingredients: Smooth, Koolada, Ethyl Maltol.

I see them pop up in recipes, but I'm trying to understand the "mechanics" of these ingredients for when I try to concoct my own recipes.

Also, what is a good starting percentage of EM Cotton Candy if I plan on using it as sweetener?

Thank you!

Smooth- can round off sharpness of eliquids, tobaccos, juices overly acidic (1-2% usually)

koolada- enhances menthol, as a standalone it will kind of freeze or make linings in the mucus membrane + throat COLD (4% or less)

EM?- its a sweetner, too much will clog up attys faster and change/inhibit flavor of ejuice (stopped using this)

I use EZ SweetZ

EM can do lots of things, one of which is sweeten. It depends on how much is used as to what it does. I covered most of the uses in my blog about butterfly farts and unicorn tears. I think I even covered that some folks are sensitive to it, not allergy sensitive, but more like hyper tasters.

I almost forgot that I discovered your blog last week and bookmarked it, but have not yet read it. I'm glad you popped in here to remind me!

"Butterfly Farts and Unicorn Tears" sounds like the name for some weird LP. I'll suggest it to my friends band. :)

I can only speak for myself but I use E.M. only in recipes that call for it. I use a higher VG ratio, so that seems to be enough sweetness for me. Koolada I add to fruits or anything I want to have a cool sensation. (coffee, tobacco, etc) Smooth I add to all tobacco mixes, typically just one drop. I don't even know if it 'does anything' but I just like to add it anyway.

Forget
I use EM rarely. Sparingly even then. A little goes a long way. Red_Bird hits on what it does to equipment. Sucralose is my #1. I have no flavors that it doesn't like or they don't like it. Tobacco's or the ones I've put EM in don't taste near as good as sucralose. Seen where someone says there are reasons for that but cannot recollet at the moment where.
I use Koolada in my ADV Menthol at 10%. Freeze! No other word.
Smooth I don't have but MTS Vape WIzard I do. It goes in all Pure Tobacco and Chocolate blends I make. I don't use it in much otherwise. Seems to enhance the darker colored flavorings(mildly sweet/reduces bitterness). It is a tobacco extract too don't forget and I understand Smooth is reverse engineered Vape Wizard.

Also, wondering if the Vape Wizard even does anything. I was eyeballing it tonight.

Seems to enhance the darker colored flavorings(mildly sweet/reduces bitterness) it changes the flavors perception in the mouth. Not really a flavor. It is a tobacco extract too don't forget and I understand Smooth is reverse engineered Vape Wizard.

I don't do tobaccos without it. And all I do is tobaccos. You just have to get a little and see. There is no comparison to me with it. Most folks doing tobaccos I've seen are saying the same. It is THE additive for tobacco flavors. It takes of any sharp edges and really mellows out all the flavors where they are not distinctly seperate. It helps blend the flavor profile together.

I do mostly tobaccos myself... Well, looks like I'll be getting the Vape Wizard. Want to try their Cuban flavoring and Maxx blend if I can find it in stock. Every place I looked was S.o.
