Love tanks! Still kind of new at this though and wondered if anyone else has experienced this issue:

Vaped on a tank all day yesterday, all went well. Today before work I decided to top off that tank for the day (with same juice) and noticed the juice that was still in the bottom of the tank was much darker than the fresh juice I was adding. The flavor has also 'gone off.' It is 100% VG juice if that makes any difference. It's no big deal to get a fresh cart and start over, but I wish I hadn't put fresh juice in it now.

Anyone had this?

Juice in a tank can get funky after awhile, due to the heat of the carto, as well as the possibility of coil gunk seeping back out into the tank. But the juice becoming unvapable after a few days seems pretty extreme.

I generally run 30 mils at least through a tank before I change the carto, and unless I'm changing flavors I won't clean out the tank or anything, and I never have issues with nasty juice. I generally use very light colored juices so that could be part of it.

But one specific juice that a buddy of mine was vaping on got funky QUICK. There must be certain types of juices that don't hold up well in tanks, because after a very short period of time the juice was close to the consistency of cold jello, if you flipped the tank upside down the juice would stay on the top in one big glob, and the glob would slowly slide down the tank. I'm talking thicker than straight VG, way thicker. Thicker than a 3-year overdue oil change in the middle of winter. About the same color too. It was quite disgusting. He doesn't put that flavor in tanks anymore. ;)

So assuming you aren't burning the crap out of your cartos, and there's nothing odd leeching into your juice, I'd hazard a guess that the specific juice doesn't tolerate tank life that well.

Some juices, in particular the darker colored juices, have tiny particulate matter in them. My assumption is this is from the flavoring agents used. As you vape the thinner liquid components of the juice get vaporized. The larger particles remain suspended in the juice of the tank or begin to clog up the filler material over time.

So the pollyfill will eventually appear darker and progressively have trouble wicking juice as some of the particulate matter clogs it up, causing a stiffer draw when you vape. The tiny particles that do not get vaporized accumulate in the tank making it appear darker and thicker.

This is one of the reasons that Boba's Bounty is so difficult to wick in delivery devices. Not only is the VG of this juice thick, it has more particulate matter in the juice than most.
