So I thought my 801 atomizer was doing great because it was producing great vapor after 2 months.... well during the last 2 weeks of that month (died today) it tasted burnt all the time and I kept topping off and dripping thinking that the cart was just dry.... It wasn't - the atomizer was dying but I was in denial. As soon as I switched to a new atomizer I finally tasted how 555 and RY4 are supposed to taste - what a waste, I've already killed at least 1 20mL bottle on bad flavor. I haven't topped off in nearly an hour and the flavor is still here. SO CHANGE YOUR ATOMIZERS IF THE BURNT TASTE DOESN'T GO AWAY!

I've had atomizers clooged to the point that I was getting nothing at all out of them. Soaking it overnight in hot water brought them back to life. I wouldn't boil it, though some have, I just stuck to hot tap water. Pretty much everything in a standard e-liquid (including the nicotine) is water soliable.

There may also be carbon build up leading to a metalic taste. I hear soaking in cola (because it's so acidic) will help break up the carbon buildup. And soaking it it cola isn't something you'll be afraid to inhale later. The best thing about an atomizer you've pretty much given up on is you get to experiment a little and see how it does. :thumb:

I use white vinegar to soak my attys and still have 2 (1 4072, 1 901) from January and another 901 from Feb. Then I rinse out with water (sometimes hot, sometimes not) then blow out and let dry. Going to try to revive 2 other 901s with Brew Rite coffee pot cleaner. Thread on the Brew Rite here. The coffee maker needs cleaning anyway...

Other attys are newer but still going strong. I soak in a shot glass.
