I've been vaping cartos for a bit now, and for the most part am having a great time. There are a few things however that I have questions on. I'm using boge 510's btw.

Nothing tastes as good to me as a freshly filled carto. A juice refill has the greatest flavor, which makes sense. At about halfway, maybe less, I notice the flavor diminishes but is still there, and tastes a little dryer and a little more "smoky". After vaping that for a good while, I will finally hit rock bottom and get a "burnt" taste.

I'm wondering if I should stop vaping and refill once the flavor gets "smokey", or if I should refill a bit after that, but a good deal before it tastes "burnt". It would mean I'd get A LOT less for my juice, but is it possible vaping at this point is damaging the carto or hurting my health?

That leads me to cleaning. Is there any method generally regarded as the best for cleaning and reusing cartos? Running under warm water for a few minutes and drying overnight should be ideal? Then filling it all the way up and letting it settle for awhile before vaping? I've also heard of using alcohol or boiling, but is this really necessary or recommended?

Another quick question, can I dilute a really thick juice with a bit of water?

thanks a lot!

Yes, refilling to often is better than letting it run to dry. Once that burnt taste sets in it's near, if not impossible to get out. Always error on the side of filling it to often if you're in doubt. That goes for about every device out there, it's always better to error on the side of keeping it wet.

I use a syringe and blunt needle to clean mine and it has worked better than boiling. I first squirt warm water through the battery end a few times, then I slide the needle down into the filling and squirt a few times.. the clear dual coils really get clean this way. I fill them with warm water then blow them out till nothing comes out. Then I sit them on a paper towel for 3 days to get them really dried out. When you refill, you need to let them sit a little while to let the juice soak in. I tried vaping as soon as I refilled but got no taste.. let it sit 30 or so minutes and the flavor came back. These clear dual cartos really clean up nice and vape like new.. I've cleaned mine twice and tomorrow I'll clean it a third time and see how it goes. They may be a bit more expensive than the boge 2.0 but they seem to clean up and vape better and longer.

I don't know about diluting.. I use a high percentage of PG in my juices so it's pretty thin.

Exactly what Nomoreash said for refilling the carto.

I have never cleaned a carto. When performance starts to diminish, I.e. vapor tastes like water, draw gets difficult, etc., I just toss 'em and replace 'em. Usually after a week or sometimes 10 days.

I don't think it is a good idea to dilute juice with water. Try finding some pharma grade Vegetable Glycerine at your local Walgreens, CVS, or even Walmart.

Or, I think some people have used pure grain alcohol, or vodka to change the viscosity.

If I lose flavor, I put my ce2 down for a half hour mouthpiece side down. If it still has weak flavor, I refill it. It's pretty obvious when it's time to refil a ce2, but if you use VG only, sometimes it just needs to be flipped upside down, same with standard poly cartos.

With regular cartos you can actually start to taste filler. Tastes like.... um... you'll know it when you taste it. In addition the flavor gets really weak and it's accompanied by a funky taste, and that means it's either time to top off, or refil entirely.

If you're home when the flavor starts to drop off, go ahead and top it off with a few drops. If you're not home, you're ok for a little while after the initial loss of flavor, but don't let it get to "burnt." If your juices are too thick for a carto, use everclear, Vodka, or as a last resort, water. But not a lot. Maybe one drop per 2ml at the most.

So when I get that smokey flavor, is it likely that I'm vaping faster than the wik can absorb juice? And is that "burnt" taste I mentioned probably filter, once the carto is completely dry?

thanks!

Hard to say about the "smokey" flavor. Flavors will have different characteristics, even at different voltages and with different equipment. When you can tell it's starting to change and you're in doubt, top it off.
