I think there are probably dozens of threads and hundreds of posts about this subject already, and I was going to resurrect the newest one I could find, but I couldn't find one. I only looked thru the first 5 or 6 pages in this particular forum though. Anyway; at a medical office building that one of my docs practices in there is a sign out front that says 'No Smoking'. In back there is a sign that says 'No Smoking or Use of E-cigarettes', so I vape in front, past the sign, and someone (either an employee or another patient) usually says, "You can't do that here..". I then point out the difference between the signs, and that I'm on the 'OK' side of the sign. The thing funniest to me is the fine print on the first sign, the 'within 25 ft. of entrance' clause, and the fact that the bench with an ashtray on either side is less than 10 ft. from the front door.. I almost can't wait for a security guard or a cop to hassle me about it..

I disagree. I vape respectfully. The cigarettes I used to smoke produced bigger, and stinkier, 'clouds' than any of my mods or tanks do. I do my best to not bother anybody with my vaping, and I am getting sick and tired of being bothered by those I try not to..

Then try to get the building's policy changed by going striaght to the source and educate. Sitting there and being belligerent about it will do nothing but firm up the resolve of the building's management to ensure they never allow it on their property.

    I know what belligerent means.

    I don't think you do:
    bel·lig·er·ent
    bəˈlijərənt/Submit
    adjective
    1.
    hostile and aggressive.

    ....

I and my vape don't require 'cloud spaces'. If a No Smoking sign explicitly includes PV's, I honor it.

If they have 2 differing signs I would personally assume they happened to have overlooked the sign that doesn't mention PVs. The respectful thing to do (both to the business and the others in that area) would be not vape anywhere people can't smoke. Do you vape in restaurants so your clouds that just came out of your lungs can waft down onto the tables of people eating near you?

6 years of vaping next month. I have vaped everywhere and anywhere I felt the urge. Discretely. I have never been confronted. I got "caught" once by a nosey fellow patron, but it was in a restaurant that had already given its blessing on me using the PV. Discretion is key. Stealth if in questionable surroundings. Vape on.

My "pocket mod" is a Sigelei 213 with a Cleito. There's nothing discreet, or stealthy about it.
    In general, I don't vape where I couldn't smoke.

I can remember about 4 years ago I was at a sushi restaurant and up at the sushi bar there was a couple vaping, granted at that time there were no signs and such, but that's just wrong imo. I have been vaping for 6 years and always tried to be discreet and respectful, not like I see most of the young cloud blowers today. I'm not say all are like that, but more and more I see the younger crowd just looking rediculous , blowing massive clouds everywhere. Went to our community pool the other late evening and there were about 8 teenagers there just chucking clouds, they had even turned on the jacuzzi and we're blowing clouds downwards into it, adding to the effect, WTH! They seen me vaping and came over to ask me if I know any tricks, but once they seen my device and that I was just mtl, they lost interest. All 8 never smoked cigs previously and we're vaping between 3 &12 mg nic and vaped solely for blowing clouds and tricks. To each their own guess, I don't care what you say, it kind of hurts the real purpose of vaping imo

The one thing not addressed in the OP post is above. There is a bench with 2 ashtrays several feet from the entrance. I think it is reasonably fair to say that a location with ashtrays is a designated smoking area, and if one is allowed to smoke there, vaping should be acceptable. The "25 feet" thing should not be an issue if the designated site by them is a bit closer. I would certainly not vape or smoke next to the door or inside.
