Ah yes, the old "don't vape where you can't smoke, so they won't make a rule that says we can't vape where we can't smoke" argument. That one is a classic, and it never gets old.

If walking through a store and some other customer has to walk through a cloud I'd made I'd feel like a jerk. It's all about respecting others rights when choosing to use your own.

The truth is the future of our industry is unknown and depending on the fear mongering the news puts out about battery explosions we could see bans and worse occur. It is each of our jobs to keep this industry looking good to society, especially during this critical time.

Anybody blowing clouds that others will have to walk through IS a jerk.
You can't make rules to stop jerks though, because it doesn't work.

I think the OP is making a legalistic argument to circumvent what the facility most likely had in mind. They likely added a second sign to include ecigs, in addition to 25 feet rule that may have come before. As for the ashtrays being 10 feet from the door, yes that was a bone-headed move, probably done by some worker who didn't even think about how far it was from the door.

Well just to make it clear, I'm not trying to circumvent anything. I follow their rules. It's their property and they can make any rules they want. Any mistakes they make just amuse me. While the sign in front has that 25 ft' clause, and the sign in the back says cigarettes and e-cigarettes, it also says 'not on the property'. So if I vape out back, I walk the extra few yards to the sidewalk on the main road.

Does the sign that says no vaping, say no vaping beyond this point or just no vaping? If it simply says no vaping, they clearly mean in the building. I took your op to mean that you were vaping between the signs, but I guess that wasn't the case. Or is there something I'm missing?

The sign in back says no smoking or vaping on the property. So I go off the property. The sign in front says no smoking within 25' of the entrance. So I go up the walk to another bench, which is close to 50' away from that entrance breezeway.

I vape every where now days. I have been doing this for just over a year now. Granted I stealth vape. No one notices or cares. At the bar,any store, check out lines,
    on the bus,where ever.

I am getting to old to be playing kiddie games with peoples
sensitivities. What they can't see doesn't hurt them.

Weapon of choice;1500 mah ego style battery, iclear16
dual coil atomizer. You can pretty much use any mix of
juice you want and still stifle any vapor by holding your breath.(adjust % of nic as needed)
    Regards
    Mike

See the stealth vape is a great idea. If someone can't see it then there is nothing to gripe about

Oh I agree and I've openly gotten on one person for this in the middle of a grocery store when the aisle wasn't filled with other customers. He was a hot headed 18-20 year old I'm guessing and needed a reminder of respecting others, I'm not an old timer yet but respect towards others to me is a principal foundation which I refuse to let fall away from society. This to me goes well beyond the vaping issues we currently face but more an issue of not giving the proper respect to our fellow men/women

It just seems to me that the only reason we have so many silly laws today, and more be enacted every day, is because we seem to have lost our common respect for one another, as well as common sense. We once had more of it; many have lost it, or never learned it in the first place; so now we have to legislate it. I can't believe the stupid things I see people doing every day; not just vaping; but everything; from driving cars, waiting in lines in stores, sitting in movie theaters and restaurants, you name it.
Why did we have to put warning labels on hair dryers, warning us not to use it while sitting in the bathtub, or warnings on lawn mowers, not to clean clumps of grass out of the chute while it's running? Because we apparently need them.

My other hobby is motorcycle skills practace. For me that is balance practice, moving the bike very very slowly without putting a foot down. I need space to do that, typically parking areas, sometimes paved, more often graveled, spread around town. Some of the places are in public parks, others are on private property. In 7 years and many hours of practice time I've never been asked to leave. I use spots when they are inactive, I don't stay long ,and only practice, no hanging out. A similar approach to vaping has worked well so far.

You are using that common sense thing that people refuse to acknowledge though...

My belief: do not be a slave to vaping. Yes, we, vapers, are mostly slaves to nicotine. But should not we be free enough to survive a few hours without it?

Note: I can survive up to 6 hours. Even 6.5 hours, when my fife is watching.

That is a noble goal, and one I have yet to achieve.

I had to when I was contracted to the federal reserve bank. Any vaping was definitely not allowed and it was cause for immediate firing. Now on the 5 hour round trip drive I'd vape like an animal and go through 7-8ml

Three years of vaping after 38 years of smoking. Vaping has been wonderful for me and I am dreading the public outcry which is building daily. Almost confronted once about vaping in a large home improvement store. I took a large drag from my Cleito in an empty aisle and before exhaling I saw a guy staring intently at me, so I smiled while holding my breath for 4-5 seconds and exhaled a wisp only. He frowned but moved on without a word.

The point is that IF one cares then stealth is so easy and so effective, why not? I stealth on airplanes, in restaurants, even in the doctors office. Rarely does anyone even see me do it and I have never been asked to stop.

But there are so many in this world who make up their mind about anything regardless of facts, so why would they treat vaping any differently? Disapproval will not go away.

Oh, and one more vote here for "The Golden Rule".
