Inspired by Hulamoon's comment in the Are those who claim that vaping is safer than smoking liars?

I can guarantee you that if there was anything, anything! significantly suspect about vaping, your buds at Pfizer/Glaxo et al would have been all over this like flies on poo and it would have been closed down many years ago - unless they had developed it and slapped a patent on it first of course.

They haven't found a thing, and by God, they have tried. The best they can come up with now is that "the children must be protected" and to force the industry out of business by urging their paid clients - politicians - to tax it to death. Never mind their own products are safe for "children over 12".

What industry in the entire world is best able to produce (by hook or crook even!) damaging "research" against e-cigs / vaping, than Big Pharmaceutical?

And like Hulamoon, I certainly cannot imagine they've been sitting back just patiently waiting for glantz & UCSF to do all the work... wouldn't ya think there have been BP efforts to find something, anything that could be used to utterly destroy e-cigs / vaping?

I think... there's going to be lots of facts come out that will make the tobacco industry take-down of the 80's look like kindergarten play. Conspiracies, anti-trust collusion (cross industry collusion... that's an intriguing concept), etc etc

Somewhere out there is a future Woodward & Bernstein & an industry insider just waiting to be this generation's Deep Throat whistle-blower.

What are your favorite tin hat theories?

Therre are no tin hat theories, government encroachment on your liberties is a fact; e-cigarettes are but a small part of that. If the facts do not support the dogma, they will simply lie. For the children my aching ...; if they truly cared about the children, they would stop spending them into poverty.

Woodward and Bernstien?!? Pffft. If the media were actually doing their jobs, the (p)resident and most of congress would be in leg irons, making big rocks into smaller rocks. Just sayin'.

just maybe BP is waiting for the public to do the "self guinnie pig" and are waiting to see if we start developing issues... why spend millions on research when it would be cheaper just to "wait and see"

so far only issues Ive read about are PG/VG related allergies, and excessive spending ones funds on goodies...

Why waste money with studies when the seeds of doubt ( We just don't know the long term effects) seem to be effective enough to get the legislation enacted. Puts the E-Cig industry on the defensive to generate the studies. By that time the laws will be well in place and a devil of a time to repeal. In a way a "Gotcha"!

My guess is they have already at least run down all computer models and found there are no long term health effects except for the rare allergies also a win for Big Pharma. It's already a win-win for big pharmacy & the insurance companies to just keep quiet. If our liquids do cause some kind of damage in the long run (which I strongly doubt) big pharma gets to pump us full of meds. The insurance companies already have our higher smokers insurance premiums and now they get to keep charging it by changing their definition of tobacco use to nicotine use. Nobody pays any attention to the current studies that can't find anything bad & they keep clamoring for more studies which they (the insurance companies & their shills) have no intention of reading either. Money is all that matters to them. You can't put a price on a child's safety so just keep giving them more and more. They'll take care of us!

I typed a whole bunch more stuff but realized it had turned into a pro-revolution rant so I deleted it. The condensed version is corporations, specifically insurance companies, control every facet of our lives and nothing short of a complete overhaul of our system will fix it. Our country made a wrong turn and we need to reboot the GPS.

Exactly! Wasn't the federal income tax needed to pay for the civil war? I guess we're still fighting because I'm still paying!
