Hopefully they don't change them so much as refine them. Awesome product that works extremely well with a few minor quirks. I've had a leaker and a pourer but the leaked was easily fixed by disassembling/cleaning/reassembling. The pourer continued to pour but that could have been the hot cinnamon liquid that caused that
Generally they leak because there is a hole or crack in the plastic tube, the cup seal isn't seated right, or the center air tube is too high. Also, blowing through them too hard will cause a leak since you are basically blowing the juice down and out the bottom. If you need to clear the air tube, it is best to do it from the battery connection side.
From what smokeless image has posted on their forum, they are just tweaking them so that you don't need to use a syringe to fill them (I'm very curious on how they accomplished that since they work by vacuum).
One thing to remember is that no clearo or carto will be universally perfect. The way they perform (leaking, clogging, dry hits) is dependent on the juice we use. Since there are so many juices and they all have different viscosities, it would be difficult to make any juice delivery device that would work universally. If they make it to handle thick, high vg juices and help them to wick easier, then the thin high pg juices will flood the drip cup or battery. And vice versa. That's why sometimes we have to tweak them on our own to fit the juice we use.
I use the bottom coil ce3 90% of the time and they almost always work perfectly. Most of my juices are 70%pg 30%vg. If I take the same clearo and put in a 50/50 juice (and by the same, I mean one that I was using so I know it works) I get a dry hit sometimes.
I guess it's the price we pay, but it's worth it.
