I am awaiting my first Genesis atomizer any day now, I bought it for its look. I hope to set it up with silica instead of ss mesh, but I would like to at least know if I can do it. I hear the EDO and the Peter K method are highly recommended for fool proof set ups. I also think both these are non-oxidizing methods which sounds good to me. I remember seeing the original thread for the Peter K that came with a video tutorial which I would like to see again.

thank you all so much
anavidfan, wish me luck

For a sure fire way to get an ss wick going, you might want to try a few strands of cotton at the top of the wick. Quigsworth1 shows it in a video on youtube. Search for 'Mesh/Cotton hybrid wick Bluegrasslover's meathod', and start the video at about 1:20 to see what he's doing. I used a que-tip as a source for cotton, and used way less than he did. Works like a charm!
