@Avid Vapor - First...I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, because I was going over what you wrote, and then all of a sudden...everything disappeared and then came back as changed!! You'd edited it right then. :D

Hang on, reading what you just wrote, and will post again.

@Avid Vapor - OK, read your answers, went back and looked at total flavoring % in your recipes, etc.

I'm glad you didn't place your order yet. Can offer a few suggestions...but they're just that, suggestions. Your choice of to take them or not.

I'd get your nic in 100% VG if I were you. I make my eliquids a 60VG/40PG finished ratio, so I order the 100% VG Nic Base. Since most flavorings are in a PG base, they will provide most of the PG you'll need for your 70VG/30PG finished liquids. Some of those recipes are 20+% total flavorings, so very little plain PG will be needed to make those, but much more VG. Getting your Nic Base in VG...will already supply some of that larger amount of VG needed. Make sense?

More coming...

Another reason for the above suggestion: When you want a final PG/VG ratio, or VG/PG ratio with Max VG, to be 70VG/30PG...getting your Nic Base in VG means you have more leeway with total flavoring % to use in your recipes.

Reason is -
You want to end up with 70% of your total eliquid to be VG or VG based. And 30% of your total to be PG or PG based.

Since most flavorings are in a base of PG (and some of those recipes take 25% of that)...that would only leave 5% more of your total eliquid that could be in a PG base. IF your Nic Base was in 100% PG...it will limit how many mL of Nic Base you could use possibly.

Getting the Nic Base in 100% VG will eliminate that potential problem.

Does that just confuse you horribly?

Haha no not at all. I understand it completely, infact im just thinking why I did not think of it. Since VG is the most used liquid why not have Nic in VG plus helps manage ratios better.

Thanks Maestro that is a relief to hear bc it can get quite confusing just looking at the recipes!
If you're getting the recipe from e-liquid-recipes, just remember that if you click at the top of the rating column, it will sort all of the recipes by rating and you'll have the highest rated ones at the top. And Bust-a-Nut is #1

Before you order, plug some of the recipes into a juice calculator and play with it. Change the PG/VG levels in your nic and in your final output. You'll see pretty quickly what the limitations are with the different nic bases.
I did try with 100% PG where I wanted a 70vg/30pg ratio but had to change it bc nic plus flavors were more than 30. Is that what you mean by any chance?

@Avid Vapor -

Yep to your question above.

OK, 1 recipe related suggestion would be that IMO you really don't need the Graham Cracker 0.5% in the Cuttwood Unicorn Milk unless you really want to stay recipe faithful. I've made it and couldn't tell it was even in there. IMO, if it were me making just 1 recipe that I use .5% of some flavoring in, I wouldn't order it. I'd put that money toward another flavoring.

Also, I'd definitely order even a small amount of Sweetener. Better to have even an 8mL amount of it and not need it, than to find later (too late) that you DO need it.

More coming...

Even some flavorings (that from their names) sound like they really should be sweet, and that you wouldn't NEED any sweetener...aren't that way at all. I think I only make maybe 1-2 recipes that I don't use any TFA Sweetener or TFA Cotton Candy in (both are forms of a sweetener by the way).

A super additive to get, that takes a very little amount of to go a long way...is TFA Smooth. It can do exactly what its name says...Smooth out some harshness, or bitiness in a mix. I use maybe only 3-4 little drops sometimes in a 100mL batch of eliquid, and it "does the trick".

By the way, TFA is the same company as TPA in those recipes.

Let's put it this way - I already have 2 scales (1 of which is still brand new in its package) from previous purposes, yet I mix by volume. Most "by weight" mixers will tell you that their method is easier, more accurate, faster, with less clean-up, etc., etc., etc. Yet...all of those are inaccurate statements based on my own experience with measuring/mixing by volume!

They say you need lots more supplies to do volume mixing - nope! I use only a few syringes and blunt needle tips. I squirt or pour all the liquid ingredients into the bottle my eliquid will be stored in. Clean-up is no big deal - I rinse the syringes and blunt needle tips in some soapy hot tap water, rinse and let air dry. Takes 1-2 minutes max.! Syringes and blunt needle tips are also less expensive than a decent scale.

Yea I guess I am confused bc me and my mate tried diy once (if you can call that diy) and we had the sharp needles on, so naturally pulling the solution was a pain. But yea I did read some on it that if you have a few different gauges life is kinda simple

Oh, GEEZ! You were trying to use regular needles they give shots with??? Blunt needle tips I'd recommend and I use are...a few 14ga and a few 16ga. The Nic Base in VG and the plain VG are the thickest, and I've found that rather than trying to literally PULL it up into the syringe...just pull the plunger up to where your specified marking is. Stop pulling...and just watch the VG and nic Base rise up on its own to there. Easy-peasy!
