where do I go from here?

Hi, New here and have been vaping for 2 months-down to 1 or 2 analogs a day.Have been using Halos g6 which was a great start but want more oomph. What I would like is a cig style with batteries that you don't have to keep charging all day long.I would be willing to go a little fatter as long as I can hold it comfortably.Have searched and searched here to get an answer but am confused about all the lingo. What's the deal with volts and mahs? The g6 is 3.7 volts and 280 mahs.Do I need more mahs or volts to get more of a hit-not throat hit but more of a more satisfying drag in a shorter amount of time.I'm thinking if I become a little more satisfied I will drop the last couple analogs which I want to do-already analogs are gross to taste. Two things- I use 6 mg to 9 mg juice-any higher and I can lay on floor and fall asleep immediately which is also why low dose nicotine patch didn't work for me(too strong)-doc said I was overdosing on nic-I couldn't breath and gasped just to walk across the room-so low nic even though I smoked 25 marlboro mediums a day.Go fish!! Also I love the quality of Halos cartomizer- are other carts just as good quality?Sorry this is-so long thanks for all the good info. here and any help you can give me.SS.

I have a joye 510, which is about cig size, battery is ok, but I just got an eGo passthru, which you can vape while plugged in, and unplug it and vape on the go. It is a little bigger than the 510, and lasts longer, but it uses the same cartos, so I tend to switch back and forth. I use smoktech dual coil cartomizers, which last me a while, I just top off when it gets a bit low. One has lasted me over a week and still going strong topping off when I need to, without burning out. Got both (the 510 I got with a PCC) cost less than $50, and if I need to, I can charge the 510 in the PCC. So far this has worked for me, but everyone has their own preferences.

Heyas SybilsSister,

If you go with a fat batt, you can use LR carto's like boge 2.0Ω, or smoktech single coil 1.7Ω, which will give you more oomph. I've heard these can damage the slim batts more easily than the fat batt models. And the fat batts should last a good long while on a single charge. The ego or riva kits from E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings (with the 20% off button, upper left corner of the page) are highly regarded around here. I think the riva kits start at ~$30.

Well if you are using auto batteries get manuals and I recommend you consider Vapor4Life ones (same threading as G6) because they allow a 10-13 second drag vs 5 seconds which is a bit too short for manual where you want to press the button in 1-2 seconds early so lots of nice vapor is ready when you start your drag. I tried a Volt auto (same as Halo) and the hit pretty much sucked compared to manual - I had to take 2 drags into my mouth and then inhale to equal one hit on manual. And the Vapor4Life manual lets me get longer drags along with the 2 second early press.

You already have 3.6v (3.7v with Vapor4Life). The only way to get more heat out of your current cartos besides using V4L manuals would be variable voltage.

But if you don't mind using blank cartos of a different kind (low resistance) then any big battery 450mah+ model or mod will do you. I use the Riva 510 from Liberty Flights.com (their Riva 510 kits are all 3.7v now - latest stock from the correct manufacturer). So you could use an adapter and put Halo cartos on it for same voltage with manual OR put hotter LR 510 cartos on it of various kinds (blanks) and get more heat and bigger hits. Don't get Ego if you want to put your Halo cartos on it with an adapter - Ego is lower voltage (3.4) than KR808D-1 like G6 and V4L (3.6 and 3.7). BTW if you shop at Liberty-Flights.com, press the 20% off upper left front page first then shop at the lowered prices.

For more battery life I would recommend a Riva, KGo or ePower. All of these will deliver the same voltage as your Halo with greater life between charges. The batteries are not much thicker that the Halo and are quite comfortable. In addition, you'll be able to use low resistance atty's or carto's. There is a great variety of atomizers, cartos and tanks available for these and you are sure to find something that works for you.

You may be looking for something that is inconspicuous just like me. Well, you just have to stop wasting money on smaller ones and face the fact that there'll never be a time when e-cigs that look exactly like real cigarettes willl produce the battery life you desire in a device. Not in the vaping world. Aside from better battery and atomizer, you'll also have to contend with juice feeding because most of the starter kits won't let you vape for long periods of time without having to refill them after just a few hours or so, not even the tank types. I read that bigger cartomizers, preferably the low resistance ones, (with the right battery, of course) will let you do that. In that case, you need lots of them and a syringe if you prefer refilling them.

I'm still looking for the right e-cig myself that suits my needs. I'm looking for the box types that fit in the palm of my hand. Battery is removable and sits next to a tank with enough juice to last you a day or two without refilling. I'm actually waiting for the next edition of Vapage Vmod or something similar. The reviews for Vmods have enough cons than pros to consider it at this point. I can wait. I have Egos, 510s, penstyles, minis that I can rely on for now.

;-)

Thanks so much Golden. So if I don't want tanks and atomizers what do you suggest?

Sorry for the late reply,
I think to bloog/Volt/Halo g6 is about the best you can get at that size
There are two parts to the "oomph" the voltage of your battery (Halo G6 is regulated at 3.6 or 3.7v, actually a bit higher than older ego's) and the resistance or Ohm of your heating element (G6 is 2.4ohms I believe, someone correct me if I am wrong going off bloog carto's)
Using the wonderfull world of math and ohms law you can plug in your volts and ohms and get your wattage, which according to Ohm's and Joule's Law Calculator is...
5.7 watts <--remember that that is your oomph given a real number (if those carto's are 2.2 ohms your wattage is 6.2)

So how do you get that higher? And you want longer battery life? You are definately going to need a bigger battery, either a bigger production run battery or a battery mod

The Riva (with its reported true 3.7v wattage) and a 1.8 ohm cartomizer will get you 7.6 watts (ideally) that is a pretty nice jump and will definitely last you a lot longer than a Halo G6 more than twice as long between charges, its a smallish device feels good in the hands and is a cheap option to upgrade to.

Beyond that it really just becomes a size vs aesthetics vs function vs cost

Pic stolen from this review Puresmoker Icon 1.1: Impressions

The icon in the center uses a 14500 batteries, lasts forever isn't much bigger than a big ego battery
it also costs about 110.00 bucks to get started because you have to buy the device some batteries and a charger. But it does work I have used its bigger brother nothing at all wrong with it, will last you about 3 times as long as your G6 (you can go check out the review linked for a pretty good run down of it)
you can easily use a 1.5 ohm atomizer or cartomizer on it bring your total wattage/oomph up to=10 to 9 watts (depending on how charged the battery is)

The Provari on the left is a bit bigger and more expensive, probably 185.00 dollars to get up and running (your going to need the device at 149.99 at least two batteries a charger some juice and a box of cartomizers) the benefit of that device is you can dial your oomph, it lets you set your voltage to whatever you want
bringing your total wattage to- whatever you want.

There are plenty of other devices besides the above its just going to come down to what you want, how you want it to look, how much you want to pay.

Hi Everybody,Thank you all so much for all the great info.I ordered a Riva 510 kit from Liberty Flights.Great deal with the 20% off so of course I tried some of their juice too.You are all so right that I needed to go a bigger battery and I went with smoketech dual cartomizers as suggested(I really do like cartomizers). This kit comes with 1 auto. and 1 manual batt. so I can now try the manual.I also like the fact that I can do more with this model if I get brave enough to try attys.I feel I will be much happier now with the Riva and I too am wondering(aren't we all) to see what is right around the corner with e cigs that will make us all pull out our wallets again. Thank you all so much and especially to you Goldenkobold my friend- you really went over the top.Imagine my surprise when I found your reply and all my researching was over-you did it for me.I love ECF and it is this forum that kept me on the road to vaping when I had nowhere else to turn.Sincerely and with appreciation,SybilsSister.
