Hi everyone,

I just started vaping and buying juice is so expensive. I like tobacco vapes and tried many but they are so expensive so I want to learn how to make my own. I'm new to this forum but done so much reading on the internet and there are so many ways to make e-juice that All I've accomplished was to get confused. Can anyone recommend a source that takes you through this step by step. I'm new at this and never did this before. some reading says to do it this way and other reading say don't do it this way and many say it's dangerous to do this. I don't know what to think anymore.

Welcome to the forums.

I understand your fustration. I was there once my self. The best place to start is research. It's not as dangerious as many lead you to believe but does require a certain amount of caution and research. Please start by reading what I've provided you below.

My blogs will give insight into all aspects of DIY, from steeping to what supplies to have on hand to a basic walk through mixing your first E-juice.

E-Cigarette Forum - dannyv45 - Blogs

Then read hoosier's blogs. These blogs concentrate on fine tuning your mix and give insight on additives.

Then read Boletus's blog's. These blogs concentrate on formulation of nicotine bases regarding proper calculations methods for figuring Nicotine concentration as well as safety.

Then read Ginger's book "E-Cigarettes 102: DIY E-Liquid". It is a book which I've contributed to that delivers an in depth easy to follow guide in the art of DYI.

E-Cigarettes 102: DIY E-Liquid

I recommend viewing VPLive Vape Team Episode #82: DIY Safety and bookmark it for future reference. It explains safety in all aspects of DYI.

then read the stickies at the top of the page.

this will explain a lot of the how's and why's.

I read dannyv45s blog and asked my friend for some supplies to get me started until I can order my own. I saw he had hangsen red which I saw danny talk about all the time for a true usa cig taste. I followed his advice in his blog and mixed it at 7% with some help from my friend to get the nicotine right and WoW I have my first home made vape. It is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you danny for that advice. My friend read your stuff to and said he learned a lot from it too. You are awesome. we are trying a lot of mixes following those instructions and having a lot of fun now.

I really can't thank Danny and a handful of others on here enough for the getting started lessons. Hangsen is by far the easiest tobacco line of flavors that produce great tasting vapes with virtually no effort. I still vape are variety of Hangsen flavors daily and my Desert Ship recipe is still my #1 favorite and I've gone through liters of it over the last 2.5 years.

If you like great tasting tobaccos flavors without having to mix a gourmet bottle of multiple ingredients then you may never grow tired of the Hangsen line.

Here is how I started. 1 liter each of 100mg nic, PG, and VG from myfreedomsmokes plus a couple of small erlenmeyer flasks and small syringes. Make an unflavored mix with the same percent of nic, PG and VG as a commercial e liquid you have and like. Dilute the commercial eliquid to 1 part e liquid to 2 parts unflavored. If it still tastes good you've just reduced the cost by 2/3. I dilute desert flavors 1 part to 3 parts and they taste fine. When I mix from scratch I use just 1% flavoring. If that's not enough add a few more drops. Later you can be chef vape if that's your goal.

Don't over complicate the juice making process. Just keep it simple and once you know what to expect then if you want to then proceed further. I been mixing for over a year now and haven't left the Hangsen tobaccos, just tweaking them to get my perfect vape. Just 2 or 3 tobacs mixed in different ratios and so far been vaping great juice with no need to build complex clone formulas that chances are going to disappoint you with the result. Keep it KISS method, enjoy the trip and in no time you'll be posting victory's instead of why did this fail.
