Where do people get off saying e-cigs are bad?

I smoked cigarettes for 33 years. I smoked on the average 30 to 35 cigarettes a day.

Maybe they should talk to my doctor that has been trying for years to get me to stop smoking cigarettes. I have tried every thing from the Gum, Patch and Medications which all have failed. Three years ago I had chest X-rays and had another done recently my lungs have cleared up some in the two years. My chronic bronchitis has also came to a complete halt. I no longer take high blood pressure medications.

In the last two years of being cigarette free I no longer wake in the morning hacking a lung out. I have been able to walk with out shortness of breath. I have no rattle in my lungs when taking a deep breath, which was not possible before when I was smoking. I feel I have more energy. I can taste the food I eat. I don’t smell like an old dirty ashtray. My sense of smell has improved allot. I sleep even better threw the night. My over all my health has improved.

It’s hard to stop smoking but electronic cigarettes have changed my life and I am now smoking free. They do work in my books. I will continue using the electronic cigarettes till the day they can prove with out any doubt that electronic cigarettes will cause more harm than a tobacco cigarette to the human body.

I personally feel that the Big tobacco Companies and Pharmaceutical industries are controlling the approval of the electronic cigarette due to the loss of revenues from present and future people that are using and will be using the electronic cigarettes.

With this all being said please consult your doctor before stop taking any medications what worked for me may or may not work for you. I would also advise your doctor that you are switching from cigarettes to an electronic cigarette so they can monitor your medications and health issues. I feel the more people that do this will give a better outlook on how electronic cigarettes have affected them and doctors can track the effectiveness of electronic cigarettes.

One of the problems is that anything based on opinion or fear can be said about e-cigs until they are actually tested by a group that is completely outside of the realm of the FDA, BT, and BP. All we have on our side at this point is the opinion and personal observations of the users. We all know how much better and healthier these are than cigarettes; we feel it everyday that we are no longer smoking.

It would be great if e-cigs could be studied and tested not only to establish their safety, but also to compare the benefits versus smoking. We need to remember that there are certain people out there who will exclaim how much better they feel doing certain types of illegal drugs. So, until these studies are actually done, e-cigs and the users can be thrown into that same category. The same people who are running around saying these are bad, really have no concern for the smoker's welfare. They simply want to see e-cigs and/or smoking disappear; whether it be for profit or for their own personal satisfaction.
