What were you washing it in? Do you have other tanks that you wash? maybe they belong to something else?

I had cleaned some Kanger e-smarts in the jar. But they are not missing anything and I am pretty sure I changed the liquid in the jar. There was a few days gap before cleaning the esmarts and the evods.

I cleaned 6 atomizers and 3 tanks. I checked all the atomizer caps and none of the has an o ring inside. I will check other caps as they rotate out to see if they might have a ring inside. And I cannot figure where, if anywhere they would go on the tanks. Inside the caps just seems like the most logical place. I will just keep a watch on the cleaned stuff as I use it and see if there are any problems. The rings will go in the spare parts box.

Good lord they're multiplying!

Sorry, couldn't help that. I'd say, at this point, put everything back together, use the bits and if you have any leaks or dysfunction then you've found the source.

That was my thought exactly. Plus they are slippery, tiny little devils. I picked on up, dropped it but luckily found it. Not easy to see on hardwood. Carpet would be impossible.

Here is my last attempt to figure this out
If this isn't it then you are slowly being invaded by inhabitants from the planet oringio

the flat part does separate from the rest of the cup after about 3 times of being dissembled for cleaning

hoo; wait ; I wonder if they fit inside the metal piece that the cap fits over

or else the pic shows how a knockoff might compensate for the atomiser being too short

It's possible that this is the answer. I did get some knockoff tanks a few months ago that were horrible - sold as Kangers but not - got a full refund. The coils were not marked and they are sitting in a separate container marked "Not Marked". None of those caps have a little top piece on them. But I very well may have used them once and cleaned them and swapped out the caps at cleaning with the Kanger and not noticed. I just don't know. Hopefully no problems will arise going forward.
Thanks for everyone's responses and help. If a post appears from the planet oringio you'll know who it's from.
