I think I used them before but they had strips of leather hanging off them with feathers..
I know about a year ago cheese cloth was gaining in popularity but then if i remember ekowool burst on to the scene and many went that direction instead.

The other thing that replaced cotton cheesecloth was peaches and cream cotton yarn. No reverse action pinching required. lol
I use these to pinch my coils.
Be careful thou if you squeeze to hard the coils can split in half. I find that torching my cotton gives it a cleaner flavour vs boiling it. Good luck.

for the folks interested in cheesecloth, i can def recommend it without a doubt. just make sure its 100% cotton cheesecloth, it should be white and is somewhat tightly woven strands. i prefer cotton balls but if i had to use cheesecloth i wouldnt be upset at all. just stick to your normal "very small" amount and feed it thru your coil. if its bunching up wen u stick it thru, too much. same priciples as cotton balls. and if you have a hard time finding cheesecloth, just go to any kind of "cooking/houseware" store and you should find it there.

I wasted an entire day going from store to store asking for "pincher tools", I gave up, spent $3.99 and got these. No where on the package does it say pincher tools though.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone mentioned the importance of letting go of the power button before using "pincher tools?" Or were we just going to let GN short out a couple of coils (as a character coil building exercise) before letting him in on the secret?

You also need to let them cool before trying to adjust them with your fingers! I always seem to forget that little detail when rebuilding! I've got a nice little blister right on the top of my finger tonight!
But as I was looking today, Whia does make insulated tweezers! One for 1000v even!
Maybe if you are doing something really small you could always us a miniature pinscher.

... and always, always put the top cap back on. Don't just leave it sitting there... in case the muscle memory kicks in and makes you do stupid things... and look quite stupid for a few days.
