Where the heck do I start?

Ok, I have been reading many posts here and on other forum sites and facebook pages for several days now while I waited for my first shipment of DIY materials to arrive from wizard labs. I know I need to start simple so I do not get frustrated and chuck it all in the garbage and go back to paying full price for my juice. Or worse yet go back to cigarettes since they are actually cheaper moneywise just not health wise due to the sheer amount of juice I go through.

Here is my plan. Most of the flavors if not all(I can't remember off hand what all I ordered) should be ok for stand alone flavors. I am thinking I would start with a simple recipe like:

For a 10ml bottle of single flavor juice

nic base = .6ml
pg/vg = 7.4ml
flavor(20%) = 2ml

I used a simple vape juice calculator found on android Google play store and was given those figures. This is assuming I will not need to add water at all. Am I missing anything and is this something I can mix and vape right away of do these things have to steep for days at a time? I am not a very patient person so not looking forward to waiting. LOL. I almost said screw it all when I started reading about all the ways and lengths of time others steep. I figure the steep question would depend on the flavor.

The % flavoring required will depend on what you are using. For some things, 20% would be way, way too high. Some vendors provide recommended concentration ranges, but other than that, your best bet is find something here from someone that has used it, and/or post a thread with the name of the flavoring and the manufacturer in the title.

i agree start with lower % , you will find out early on which flavors are good right after mixing and which are not , if steeping is needed you can plan ahead and steep naturally or speed steep in hot water baths / ultra sonic cleaners there is plenty discussion on speed steeping , myself i tend to plan ahead but if i run out i have plenty of other recipes that keeps me satisfied while i wait good luck with your mixing venture

you didn't state your intended PG / VG ratio. You only need to add water if you are shooting for 100% VG then keep the water at low % if you do. Steeping longer is best but go ahead and try it after you mix it. At first, you probably won't be steeping many juices long but once you gt started you will quickly build up the amount of bottles you have and won't be abe o vape them all which means they will be steeping

The pg/vg is going to be 50/50 to start with. I have heard that is best place to start. Eventually I want to get into the higher vg. I love clouds...LOL!

All suggestions are right on point. Expecially the flavor percentages. Flavor percentages are all over the place. In other words they can range from 2% for very potent concentrated flavorings on up to 35% for weaker flavors. So it's always best start with 1 flavor and research it and find the recommended flavor range. Most venders that sell that particular flavor will give you that range. When you find that out start with the lowest percentage and if nessessary make sure you steep it first before adjusting.

Before you start let me recommend some reading:

Read my blogs before getting started

E-Cigarette Forum - dannyv45 - Blogs

then read hoosier's blogs.

then read the stickies at the top of the page.

this will explain a lot of the how's and why's.
