If I had my time again I would have started on an EGO

That sounds almost sad.....I still use eGo batteries that are over a year old :)
They are the old standby and fit all manner of doodads

On the other hand....This place has the KR808 model. I would suggest the XL, manual batteries. That's what I started with and they served me well.
Good luck

I would go with a Riva or E-Power. They dont look like a cig, but I think youll get over that quickly. They will give you more battery life and they are both great PVs to start with. I use the E-Power and love it. Everything is replaceable so it keeps cost down and it uses non-proprietary batteries. E-Power batts cost $4 compared to eGo/Rivas thats cost $14-20. Check out Crystal Clear Vaping if your intrested in the E-Power.
You get a free 5 pack of Ressurector cartomizers which are awesome, a free 30ml juice of your choice and free shipping.
Plus put in ecf5off and get 5% off your order

Thanks. also which online dealer should I be buying from? A friend referred me to .......... and I heard horror stories from there.

There are sub-forums here on ECF for vendors that are tried and true. I would recommend Vapor4Life for KR808D-1's with XL manual batteries. Check to see if there's a current sale going on because they run 20-30% discount sales constantly. I also hear really good things about the Volt from Smokeless Image, which is the new-generation of the model. A longer-lasting "fat-battery" version of the 808 is the IGo, sold at NHaler.

For the longer-lasting batteries with a 510 threading, you should look for a variation of the Ego. There are lots of places that sell the EGo so I'm sure someone will chime in with a recommendation. A Riva is a stronger voltage clone (3.7v versus 3.4) and it is sold at Liberty Flights. Click on the 20% off banner at the top left of the page before ordering.

For e-liquid, it's a bit more difficult to know what you'll like because everyone's tastes are so different. I would recommend that you check out the threads devoted exclusively to rating them. I've learned a lot from other vapers. My favorite juice vendors these days are Vapor4Life (Wow Coffee, Wow Pancake, Wow Peppermint), Crystal Clear Vaping (Atomic Redhots), My Freedom Smokes (Keoke Coffee, English Toffee, Blackberry) and my newest addition, Virgin Vapor.

Blu is NOT a 510. Blu has the same threading as 510 but 1/2 the battery charge of 510 and Blu is reverse electrical polarity and will fry a 510 with its charger and vice versa. Not a 510.

I recommend 510 MANUAL over the second tier model RN4081. Stick tan or white Boge standard resistance cartomizers (NiteLiteVapor.us) on a white 510 and it will look every bit as cigarette-like as Rn4081. But the manual 510 is compatible with TONS more stuff and the manuals have a fully sealed metal threaded end (so they are near impossible to damage or kill with juice leaks) and manuals make it much easier to get a good hit. Also on a manual you can use a drip tip on the atomizer to test juices. I prefer the look of black 510 and black Boge cartomizer - I don't want to look like I am smoking. I am not smoking.

Welcome to ECF!

I started with a 4081 and it was a decent starter PV. I was able to learn a few things with it and got to try out atomizers and cartomizers and learn the difference. It does indeed look like a ciggy especially if you get the white with the orange LED. The major drawback was battery life was quite short lasting only a couple hours at best.

I then "upgraded" to the RN4081 mega battery and was quite pleased with the extra hour or two from the 280mAh mega vs the standard battery 180mAh. AZSmokeFree is a good choice for the RN4081 stuff.

My current PV is a Joye eGo. Love it! Doesn't look like an analog ciggy at all. The battery is manual and you have to press a button to activate the atty coil before you take a puff. The performance on the eGo is amazing! Nice vapor production and the battery last all day for a good 10 hours before I have to charge and sometimes into the next day.

I would look at the Joye 510 if you want something that looks/feels like a ciggy. Most all the suppliers carry 510 atty's and carto's. If you decide to upgrade to a fat battery later like the eGo your 510 parts will be compatible. Liberty Flights is a great supplier for 510 stuff! Click the %20 discount banner at the top of the Liberty Flights home page before you shop. :2cool:

I have an eGo myself but I always thought these looked kind of cool:

Buy E-Cigarette | Safety Electronic Cigarette | Electronic Cigarettes

Of course you could get a JoyE 510 and a pack of Boge cartomizers for it. If you go with the small battery cigarette-sized e-cig do not get the low resistance 2.0 cartomizers. You will fry your battery!

Couple of places to look at:

Joye eGo | Joye 510 | Tulsa Oklahoma Electronic Cigarette batteries, atomizers, cartomizers, e-Liquid, accessories and more!

I ordered this one in the mail back in November, and just got it yesterday! Really nice with the vapor production! Thanks!
