Hi Tib. We haven't lost power YET so that's a blessing. Lots of people have already. This is a bad one - 18 inches of wet heavy snow. See you in the spring once we've dug out.

I was listening to the radio and a reporter went out to the highway to view the spinouts, HE spun around twice - ended up in a snowbank facing the wrong way. A car full of 5 guys pulled up and shoveled him out.

18 inches so far and it's still snowing like crazy. It's going to snow all day. We're looking at well over 2 feet.

Good morning everyone. I will be busy today, packing my bags and getting the plane tickets.

My friend, who lives near San Diego, invited me to visit him. I'm thinking about it, maybe he will let me stay for the winter. You coming, Z ????

The Government has issued a travel warning due to the cold weather.


They suggest that anyone travelling in the current icy conditions should make sure they have the following:

Shovel
Blankets or sleeping bag
Extra clothing including hat and gloves
24 hours worth of food
De-Icer
Rock salt
Flashlight with spare batteries
Road Flares or Reflective Triangles
Empty gas Can
First Aid Kit
Booster cables

Well it's still snowing here but no thundersnow YET. I did hear we may get a thunderstorm this afternoon though, There are drifts well over 5 feet high all over the place. Lucky for us all this wet snow is going to freeze this afternoon into blocks of ice and snow. A wire is front of my house is sparking now when it blows against a big maple tree,

The wires everywhere are so loaded down with wet snow this isn't unusual. They're swamped with downed wires now anyways.
