Those damn HDMI cables can cost more than a DVD player.:mad: It's a huge racket!!!
Yeah. I don't know if I can afford the $5.
Monoprice dot com

I found them through CNet's TV buying guide. I've gotten a few cables from them in the past few years (e.g. when my Dad lost the cable for downloading pics from his camera). So has my niece. Cheap, fast and they work.
buy cheap HDMI cables. In the store, you'll probably hear a salesperson tell you to get extra cables. That's because overpriced cables are one of the few areas where electronics stores can turn a big profit. In reality, cable quality matters very little, especially with digital cables such as HDMI. Since many stores don't even carry lower-priced cable alternatives, we recommend shopping for cables online and buying based on price from a vendor with a good return policy. Check out our HDMI cables Quick Guide and "Why all HDMI cables are the same" for more information.

Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Fudgey. :)

Hi Jan :)

Happy afternoon Renee

Hi Ralph

We got lucky and the oldest son bought DH a blue ray player for fathers day. You can connect it to the internet and download movies from Netflix and Amazon.

True dat! Generally digital signal cables either work or it doesn't. The only time I pay retail for any cables is if my local cable store is closed, and I can't wait. I will order online if I have a couple of days lead time.

They are pretty nice to have.....don't have to go searching for movies at Redbox and you can find a lot of free movies to watch.

Happy Sunday everyone.

Today's project is buying a new can of air. I hooked up the DVD player yesterday (after figuring out that I should use both red/green/blue and red/yellow/white cables -- without the yellow.) The picture is really sharp and nice but all it says is that it can't play this disc. I've been using my computer for DVDs since I moved the TV after tossing the couch so I'm hoping it's just dust. (If not, wow, DVD players are cheap!)

The 3-color video connection is called "component". The 2-color audio connection is just left + right audio channels. I also used a 3-color cable for audio when I had that, one plug unused. From my DVD player, hardly ever used now, the audio is a coaxial cable (like a thin TV cable). From the puter to TV, it's a flimsy optical cable, only as backup coz it's on HDMI. Confused?

Those damn HDMI cables can cost more than a DVD player.:mad: It's a huge racket!!!

I bought an Ace monitor if you recall. It came with an HDMI cable I used for the TV. The $10 cable from Amazon got loose in a couple months. It's the stupid connectors. :glare:

That's when I go to one hand typing! But my mom on the phone can hear the keyboard sound and asks right away "you on the computer, busy?" Can hurt her feelings sometimes, so I can't walk and chew gum either.

Good day J0kers! :)

Hi JaG!

I was having a hard time understanding her. Had to give her 100% attention. :)

How is your day going?

Doing good. Kinda taking it easy, kinda working, kinda watching Big Bang Theory (background noise).

I have a major client whose T1 connection has been bouncing all weekend, so Monday's whisper was pretty loud. :(

It's best to give 100% to who you are onthe phone with. I don't with my mom but the conversations with her are me saying.....oh really....uh huh......yeah....okay....okay.....LOL

Ah the joys of working for yourself.

The biggest decision is to chew your fingernails or kill the customer.

Or a certain telco, like Century Link (was Qwest)!

I agree. Good phone communication is hard enough without the multitasking.

Sister in Arizona is that way. I do call an end to it when she starts repeating the same thing for the third time.
