Yes, and I am a sucker for it. I always check for hooks first though. That green stuff is wasabi, a japanese horseradish. Its very hot. You mix it with some shoyu (a light soy sauce), and dip the fish into that. Its great, but will clean out your sinuses real quick!

Raw fish....Yucky!!!!

With chop sticks, or a fork :lol: Actually the fish used for sashimi is VERY mild. Not fishy tasting at all.

I like your jambalaya idea. I Love that and have made some good batches myself. Never tried making gumbo. Do you like okra? I love it fried, but not stewed unless its in a gumbo.

Raw fish is raw fish....eeeewwww! I like my okra fried really well done. My grandmother used to cut and let it dry before she cooked it. I miss homegrown food. Look in the pasta/rice aisle of your store and see if they have a box of Zatarrains jambalya mix. It's pretty darn close to home made.
