Oh, it's all right. These were slightly older friends and it happened 9 years ago. It did change my outlook a lot though. That's when I went for "voluntary simplicity", cut things back and tried to relax and get by with little, when I sold everything and 'retired' to Hawaii. But I'm back on the mainland now.

Don't mean to darken the mood here. There's a happy ending! :)

No problem my fellow North Shoresman. :D I started it. Hadn't expected the thread to explode. Nice to see a good cadence going in here tonight. :)

But Ralph, it's January in Illinois!!!

Thundersnow would be more appropriate. First time I ever saw that was at Chanute AFB when I was at jet school. :)

not more Betty Boop please or i am going to report your post as offensive to Liscab ......................

Come on now Lis. I know you miss taping things up.:laugh: It's the untaping part that really sucked!

I didn't know you ever lived in Illinois. Grew up in LeRoy which is a hope skip and jump from Chanute. Been there many times. Many people weren't happy when it closed.

Hi Jan.

So many people have picked up on Lis's version of my screen name that I actually pronounce it "Poe" sometimes.

 ...........
Aww. And I've been using her name so long that if someone said "Poeia" on the street, I'd probably turn around. But I was referring to the pronunciation. When I see "Poe" I pronounce it the way Edgar Allen pronounced his last name. Onomatopoeia, on the other hand, pronounces her name (or would if she'd bother to learn to say it) "Pia."

Night

I was just a pup then, back in '80 and 18. Jet school was 8 weeks, and I probably never made it off base.

It's alllllllll cool, right Ralph? :D

Good night, jj. :)

Yes it is bro. If I win the lotto, lets take all the Jokers to HI for a vaping summit. :)

It was the taping of the man parts up so as not to look like men, while dressed in the Betty Boop outfits. You remember that right? Taking the tape off was the worst part. Was it Tibs we did that for? I think that was the beginning of the whole avatar changing parties that spawned the pre-vet avatar party stuff.... But I could be wrong. Seems like that started in Jokers or snails.

I "hear it" the same way. I suspect that in a few more months if someone were to yell Poe on the street, you will turn for that too.
