Hey guys....So i've been vaping for about a month and i gotta say i've been through a lot of frustrations with eciggs so far.....Ok so for my very first ecigg i ordered 2 DSE 901's one for me and one for wifey. Well that worked ok for us for about a week then we started noticing we were getting next to no TH all of a sudden we had tried different attys and juices that used to give us good TH and just nothing seemed to helped (i personally started noticing after vaping some on my friends Riva 901).
So next step was i ordered a Riva 510...It came with 2 batterys and 2 attys. One atty was DOA so i contacted the people i bought it from who were sending me out a LR atty to replace the dead one. So at first im using the Riva with no problems and the normal atty that came with the kit and worked. Then i get the LR one and i give one battery and that atty to my wife and i start using the LR one...Still no problems good TH good flavors etc.....Then the LR one dies on me after about a week and wifeys atty seems like it may be going bad so i order 2 more attys (non LR they were out of them) and a USB passthrough and some more juice...
That catches u up to where i am now i have a USB passthrough and 3 normal attys (one on passthrough and 2 on Rivas). The only thing i seem to feel any TH off of now is the USB Passthrough (which is a VERY nice TH). I feel a VERY minor TH off my normal Riva with the new atty and very little of one off of my wifes atty which is the one that came with the starter kit. I've tried direct dripping and carts, i've tried different juices all having no luck....Im wondering if its just that i got spoiled by the higher voltae of the USB passthorugh or whats going on here im at a bit off a loss and rather frustrated because when i DO go out i need something that'll give me a TH and i can't carry my laptop everywhere with me lol. Any suggestions or thoughts or anything would be greatly appreciated....

Thanks for reading through all of this

Since a LR atty simulates a high voltage vape, and a PT can give a higher voltage than standard batteries, maybe it is time for you to step up to a HV mod?

I use a low voltage mod, 3.7, with protected 18650 battery so I get a full 3.7 volts, instead of the 3.2 from standard 510 battery, and LR attys. Works great for me.

I have tried out stacking CR123A 3.0V protected batteries in the same mod with a HV atty and it is OK once in awhile, but it is a bit too warm for me to use constantly like that.

Former non-filter smoker, so I know what it is to need the TH.

I saw a fairly cheap one on Madvapes also i was thinking of getting but bottom line is im not gonna have that kinda money to blow for at least a month especially with halloween coming up.

well, it's either that or snag up some more LR atties- those aren't always cheap either!
Puresmoker has some in the clearance section for 4.99 ea. but they're 510's.
Check that boxmod link I sent you and look at the 5volt boxmod. I think that would satisfy you and for about the best price... until you get a more durable one that thing would work for ya!

I would avoid using LR atomizers despite their great throat hit on a Riva - they kill batteries fast! I've had this happen to me on an eGo and Riva 2x each unit.

This happened to me today.. I only bring the one battery to work, confident that it will last the work day and longer. Today, I tried the LR atty that came with my kit. Imagine my shock when the battery died at 4:00!!! I'm glad I read this, though, because now I know why.

To the OP, if you are not opposed to the flavor of menthol, adding some menthol drops to your liquid might give it a bit more of a kick on the throat hit.

This has been my experience as well, but I see it as the price of good TH. LR attys will run down and wear out your batteries quicker - I'm convinced of that. Also, if you're using LR attys, you need to replace them more often - every couple weeks for me. Well, that's what I used to do. These days I'm rebuilding 510 attys and building DIY attys, but that's not for the faint of heart. I haven't tried HV... maybe I should.

I was looking at mods some but i really don't think i'd be able to make any on my own and i KNOW i can't afford to buy one....I've never been good at soldering and stuff like that and understood this kinda stuff

So you basically think tho that i just got spoiled by the PT? lol

TH is the result of two things, mainly: warmth of the vapor and nic strength. Warmth of the vapor comes with more power whether through lower resistence in the atty or even better, more volts. If you want consistent throat hit, then get a 5 volt PV. And you can get one for $37 from Ken's Box Mods and that is a very good price. And if you are using your passthough plugged into your computer, you are not getting 5 volt power. Here is Ken's site:
