I've used a few blu disposable e-cigs, and I'm looking to get a real e-cig now. I'd like a medium sized one, where I can fill it with the juice that I want. One that will give me a nice amount of vapor, and will last for a decent while. Which do you recommend I get? There are so many different types and options to choose from, so I thought I'd ask here. What should I get? I usually smoke about a pack a day. Thanks for the help!!

I would suggest and ego twist or vision spinner battery 900 mah. Mah is the determining factor for the length of use before you will charge the battery. I would suggest an evod to put your juice in. I would get 18 to 24 mg juice no lower in mg. Mg is the nicotine stregnth of the juice.
24mg is often too high for new vapers. Especially since many chain vape when they find a great flavor. Best to start at 16mg-18mg for a pack a day smoker.

I was in your boat a month ago, welcome. After countless hours on ECF and searching the web I bought the ego c 650 kit w/mini vivi novas and am thrilled with it. Everyone recommends the twist to adjust voltage and get the perfect vape. I get it, but I'm OCD and know I'll never be happy and constantly be adjusting the voltage!!! So, it's the plain old ego c for me. I found Rocky Mountain Vapor to be the best deal on the web for REAL, no knock off ego set ups. IMO, pick what you want from this link and buy it...enter "20rocky" in the coupon code at check out for 20% off. Custom EGO Kits : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

I started 6 weeks ago with a Foos Big clearomizer unit. I was able to try before I bought and could buy in local gas stations. After about 4 weeks I was ready to step it up to a variable voltage and once again was able to try then buy at a local Volcano store. After trying then doing some serious research on the Lavatube v2 I returned the next day and got a tremendous deal on the kit. Got the mod a 15ml bottle of juice, a 30 ml bottle, case, battery, charger, and an adapter for my clearos, a couple of cartos for far less than the kit price from the store owner. I wish in retrospect I had just gone Variable voltage and saved some money, but the Foos is inexpensive and outperformed the Volcano Inferno. If you know your done with smoking and have the money, do some research, go to local shops if you can, then pull the trigger. Good luck

So if I got an ego twist battery, I'd need an evod to put the juice in? So the evod would screw onto the battery and I'd be good to go?

Yes the evod is a bottom coil tank. You should rinse the evod out before use with hot water and let dry. After dry fill it up and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes and have at it.

I love evods. Simple to use and change heads. I especially like the wicks. I'm not a big take apart and maintain. Heads are cheap. When one gets tired I just toss it and screw in another.

Before I got a vv batt I wouldn't have thought it was good for beginners but there is nothing to it. Just dial in your preferred vape for each juice.

Get some 10ml bottles of 12-18-24 strength. I vape 6 at night and 18 in the am. Everyone is different. If you chain vape early on (very easy to do), 24 will go to most pad smoker's head.

Carts are a good way to test a lot of stuff with little stress. They are cheap and disposable. Buy some blanks and test out all kinds of juices. You can have 5-10 on rotation. I never clean them. Just keep the same flavor in each till they get tired and toss them. You can't do that with evods unless you have deep pockets.

Enjoy!

Yes, but the evod is just one type of tank that works on an ego battery. If you buy some type of starter kit, it should include a tank. Personally I've found the "Cutie" tank by Jessy to perform much better than others I've tried.

Definitely sounds like you're in the entry level stick battery phase, which is a great place to start if you get the kits. There are many stick or ego types and I'll list the top five, imho. You need the variable voltage to get the best vape flexibility. The following all have variable voltage, and one has variable power in addition to variable voltage, and is my current go to ego style. Anyway, here's my two cents:

Stick Batteries, known as eGo Style Batteries (entry level, backup, out and about, stealth, primary):

Trusted Vendors shown, but NOT selected based on pricing, you'll still need to shop around. You will need device specific battery chargers (which often come in kits) for these devices. Also, kits often provide two batteries allowing for simultaneous vaping while charging of the backup. Each of the eGo style batteries below have both 510 and eGo thread connections. As such, they are compatible with most toppers, including most Kanger products. Additionally, each of these devices has at least variable voltage, which allows you to adjust and regulate the battery output voltage, providing customizable vapor production, temperature, throat hit, and finding the "sweet spot" for your juices to suit your individual vaping preferences:

1. Innokin iTaste 3.0 vv/vw, usb passthrough, ohms reader, etc. - https://ivape.net/index.php/iTaste-VV-3.0-Variable-Wattage-Device-Pearl-Chrome.html (variable power, LCD display, +/- buttons, Usb passthrough, 3.3 - 5.0 volts, 6.0 - 11.0 watts, 800mAh)
2. SLB KGO VV - http://www.hoosierecig.com/Mega-KGO-VV-1200mAh-3-6v-_p_441.html (LCD display, +/- buttons, Usb passthrough, 3.0 - 6.0 volts, 650 - 1200mAh)
3. Vision Spinner - Vision Spinner VV eGo Battery 1300mAh (3.3 - 4.8 volts, 1300mAh)
4. Joyetech Twist - eGo Twist 1000 Mah Battery in Black (3.2 - 4.8 volts, 650 - 1000mAh)
5. Smoktech Winder - Smok eGo Winder 900mAh Variable Volt Battery (3.2 - 4.8 volts, 900 - 1100mAh)

Best Starter Combo kit out there, imho, provides two batteries, i.e., the twist and/or spinner, and two toppers, i.e., the eVod and/or MT3s, among others: http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm.

Recommend one eVod and one MT3s topper with one Spinner and one Twist to start. This way you get four different products with the kit and allowing you to experience four different setups, as you figure out your preferences and what works best for you. BTW, you can spend less and get a fixed voltage battery, but you'll have much less vape flexibility and it won't be long before you'll want to upgrade to variable voltage, more than likely, and the difference initially is only a few dollars per battery anyway.

The kit is a little higher than some, but it will do the trick. Also, you can get some of these items at Fasttech.com at wholesale prices (14 day delivery). The iTaste 3.0, for example, is only $24.95 (express kit) at Fasttech, or less than most twists, spinners, etc. Good luck, Happy shopping and Vape On!

Just a quick note. Got the evod 10 pack at Fasttech for $24. At only $2.40 a piece, you can put these in rotation fairly easily. Check it out:

$24.78 EVOD Electronic Cigarette Round Mouth Atomizer (10-Pack / 1.5mL) 10-pack - 2.4

The different colors allow me always know what juice is in what evod, so I don't mind most of the colors. Vape On!

Stay away from disposables. They're no good, and they end up costing just about as much as smoking anyway. eGo batteries are working very well for me so far (two weeks in), and you can get tanks for them that will let you fill up in the morning and vape all day. I smoked a pack a day, and the retailer recommended 18mg/ml nicotine, and I find that to be a bit too much. My next bottle will be 14 mg/ml instead. The size of tank you'll want depends mostly on how much you smoked before. I use a 2.4 ml tank and that lasts me most of the day. Just make sure when you buy a new clearomizer that it is threaded to fit your battery.

I would have recommended an eGo twist & clearomizer as an option, but I think that the iTaste 3.0 brings an awful lot of flexibility without sacrificing simplicity to the table.

About the same size/length as an eGo twist, but adds features found on larger mods. The most important? Variable wattage. This is a mode that once you find a comfortable watts setting, it will automatically adjust to any other clearomizer/cartomizer you care to put on it.

You can buy an iTaste "kit" that comes with iClear 16 clearomizers that perform very nicely, but it works well with almost any 510/eGo threaded device. What I like in recommending this is that you can experiment with a number of different clearomizers/cartomizers without having to get too caught up in what resistance the coil/atomizer is.

Also, it features pass-through charging, which means that if the battery is running low, you can still vape on it while plugged in for re-charging.
