The best clone to get IMHO is the 2014 kayfun Light Plus made by Tobeco. I've used mine everyday for 3 months and still as good as the day I received it. This model has the most features out of all the kayfuns including the authentics.

No it doesn't.

The Kayfun Lite Plus does not have the collector tank below the coils, nor have the 1-way refill valve on the side. Those two features are exclusive to the 3.1.

Also the airflow adjustment screw on the KFL+ is in a horrible place. You've got to remove the topper from the mod to adjust it. The 3.1 has the adjustment screw on the side so you can adjust it while you're drawing from it, so getting it perfect is really easy.

Like I stated, Just my opinion. What purpose does the bottom collector serve other than adding unneeded height to the device making it the tallest out of all the kayfuns if not used as a hybrid? Might as well get a Russian... As for the AFC you don't need to have it screwed on a device to set it to your preference, and most ppl don't need to change it once they have it to there liking and like the fact that it's hidden out of sight for a smoother look. I've only adjusted it the first day I received it and haven't touched it since. The 3.1 has those features exclusively to its own but also lacks the other 2. The drip tip adapted is a toss up useful/pointless unless your afraid of losing your tip and want to only have the kayfun style screwed into it. So I guess the amount of features is the same just depends on which ones you feel are more important :?: non the less I think everyone will agree Kayfuns/Russians are one of the best RBA's. All we need now is KFL+ with version 2 top cap, with adjustable 510 and built like the EXpromizer to rewick/build while keeping all your liquid. Sorry so long there's just to many options when entering the kayfun world lol

I have three different Kayfuns.

1. ehpro Kayfun Lite+ in the black box. Comes with your standard keychain dual sided screwdriver, spare o rings, 510 drip tip adaptor and an additional full sized tank section if you chose to not use the metal ring sections. There is adjustable airflow via a screw at the bottom of the base and a fill hole on the other side of the 510 connection. polished stainless steel build. Mine was dirty with excessive machine oil when I purchased it at VaporCast here in Dayton, OH for $60. Also I don't see much difference in airflow when fully opened and think mine may have blockage due to a very loading whistle sound upon taking drags. The threads at the bottom of the base where the first ring is screwed down to are rather rough and crunchy. I love the materials used, not a fan of the whistle and some of its threads.

2. What I believe to be a Tobecco 3.1 clone from Fasttech. Might just be a Fasttech clone with no real manufacture name. like the 3.1, adjustable airflow and fill hole in the side of the unit and a collection deck. Also came just in a Baggie with o rings, pre made wick and coils, a clear tank section and has a mounted mouthpiece that screw in. Didn't come with a drip tip adaptor. Performs well and has great threading and machining. However, I'm not a fan of the fact its made of chrome plated brass. The plating on the outside of the unit started to wear off, I had to sand it off, leaving now a brass Kayfun...still plated in the interior. Also the fill hole port doesn't seem to work at all or barely. I always have to use the top fill method which causes leaks or floods 30% of the time.

3. hcigar 3.1. Nearly a 1:1 replica of the authentic Kayfun 3.1 and the Russian. Matt finished Stainless steal, same adjustable airflow as the Fasttech 3.1 and the authentic and has an insulated fill port making for much easier filling. Came in a zipper pouch with clear tank section the keychain screw driver, pre made wick and coil also came with the drip tip adaptor. Mouth piece screw in or so does the adaptor. The threads are buttery smooth and the machine quality is phenomenal. Mine came with a slight issue with one of the liquid channels...doesn't seem drilled out all the way to make connection with the base channel. Mine wasn't too dirty but caked galore with metal shavings and a few machine marked on the channel deck. Overall, its hard to tell the difference between this and the authentic that I compared with someone else's real deal. Performs just as good at a fraction of the cost.

If I had to rebuy any of these again, I'd happily rebuy the Hcigar clone and buy several of them to replace my two others. The ehpro one is decent but has some small issues that makes it an unpleasant vape(tired of sounding like I'm blowing a ref whistle) and the Fasttech one is chromed brass that will eventually wear off, and once the interior does the same....you may find yourself vaping toxic brass fumes. Two of my fav citrus flavors...ecto cooler from MBV and Queen of Sex from Starbuzz while leaking over a duration of a few months through the airport during the few leaking floods while filling it, the eliquid started to take the plating off around the hole. If it was doing that on the exterior, time would only tell when it happens internally. Unless you want to vape essentially Alzheimer's, be my guest.

I'd say steer clear of any junk made of chromed brass. Not that the "quality" is any less, but when that plating wear off anywhere near a heated coil, the brass will emit toxic fumes. That is why food grade stainless steel is an industry standard, because of general safety. From my little knowledge of metals....brass(even navel grade) has nickel in it....a highly toxic metal.

I have learned my lesson when it comes to clones.
Compared to what I spent in cigs, there is nothing short of an Otto Carter that I can consider expensive.
Same goes for anyone that was a at least a pack a day smoker.
Put that $5 a day aside, buy the real thing, and be happy.
Sure,.my hcigar stuff performed well for the first few months.....but after that, stuff starts to go awry...at the very least the finish.
Factor in the fact that resale on
the real thing is phenomonal, buying a clone is a waste of money.
And the less money you have, the less you can afford to waste.

Err, you failed to mention the 1 way refilling valve on the 3.1 which allows you to refill the tank without removing the top or the topper.

But I guess you think taking the whole thing off, turning it upside down, and removing a screw to refill it is SO much easier than sticking a blunt tip syringe in the side and squeezing.

Look, you don't have to get all defensive about it. The Kayfun Lite and Lite Plus are called LITE for a reason. They lack features that the 3.1 has. The 3.1 does not lack any feature of the Lite or Lite Plus. It's just that simple.

Didn't mean to come off as defensive about it, I'm just comparing the advantages of the kayfun clone I recommended over the other clones. Which is the only one with an adjustable 510 and sealed fill hole. No it's not easier than sticking a syringe in the side and squeezing like the 3.1 but with an oring and screw it's never leaked once or made a mess while filling "I do use a syringe" I can't say that for the 3.1's fill port. So I guess it comes down to if you want ease of operation or a slight more functionality. "Again I'm comparing the newer KFL+ w/ adjustable 510 and sealed fill hole to the rest" buts it's my opinion and other ppl may not care about certain features. I know I spent a good month solid researching kayfuns before I ended up buying a clone but it's a damn good one + custom machined parts and it's not so much a clone anymore besides the base ;)

Personally, I looked at real kayfuns, clones and honeslty they are all pretty much the same, minus price. I mean the originals and the clones all the peices fit together, so really what difference is there?

I love my Hcigar Kayfun 3.1 Sure the fill hole sucks, but no one uses it anyway. As for top filling its not all that bad. and you can pack the juice in there. The point is that its a closed system. So all orings need to be tight ON EVERYTHING. When top filling you just have to make sure your getting a good seal. Turn it maybe 2-3 turns, just enough to catch the top of the tank. Then flip it upside down. Keep your hand around the base and keep the air flow and Fill hole covered the whole time. Even before you flip it. Never had a problem with mine, For awhile My coil was not quite right. You have to make sure its high off the deck an the air hole below. and getting the right cotton in there can be tricky at first. Never put cotton over the juice channels. Just to the base of that deck above them.

Mine ate juice when I first got it, it gonna depend on what pg/vg Ratio. Mine is all mostly 50/50. I have run 100%vg juice too, wicks fine. Its gonna eat juice, these things are efficient and id imagine most people are like me, the taste is amazing. Id almost say you never tasted your juice until you filled up a kayfun :) And for 30 bucks, .... I wish I never baught my AGA-T2 Id rather have two kayfuns :) Maybe buy an OG Kayfun. You cant go wrong when you know what your doing.

You probably also could be just vaping more. I would even consider lowering my nic down for 18 to 12 or even 6. Efficiency makes it to where I really dont want that much nic anymore.

Dont buy from FT. What for? When you can get high quality clones right here in America. Everything I hear on FT is its hit and miss. I just avoided the place from the start. Also vaping is not like smoking analogs. To get a good vape it takes work and patience. I rip my kayfun apart not because it needs to be changed. I just like to tinker. The more you tinker and the more you learn, the better it gets. I can see why it becomes a hobby to most. Its more than vaping to me. Its a passion at this point...

I didn't order from FT but I recently got both the Hcigar 3.1 and the EHpro KFL+. Both are nice and I don't think that you would go wrong with either.

Agreed, almost everything I get is either EhPro, or HCigar, usually in that order, and they have always been the best quality clones I've used, usually on par, if not better than the authentic items.

So ... you're telling the OP flat out not to buy from a very popular vendor that you have no firsthand experience with?

Sigh.

I have 2 Tobeco clones and they're not terrible, but I'd say look for a EHPro or HCigar clone instead. The screws that come with the tobeco clones are complete garbage and will rust if you're not careful. I've yet to hear a similar complaint about EHPro or HCigar clones. I have two on order with a co-op over on reddit currently from EHPro. Also with the two tobeco clones I have, one has stripped screws... I may have over tightened the first set, but the backup one I was definitely extra careful with and it still stripped. I still use it with some teflon tape on it, but it kind of sucks to have to tape the screw after every fill or two.

interesting.... what temperatures does brass need to get to before it starts emitting toxic substances??
