jorswors,

If you want simplicity, take with you anywhere kinda like "analogs" where your not farting arround with liquids and stuff, go to Vapor4life and get the Kr808-1 kit with the cartomizers. Cartomizers are all in one pieces that contain the liquids and atomizers. You can get blank cartomizers and fill them yourself, but If you do that, then you may as well go with a differnt model like the 510 or m401.

One thing is you have to replace your atomizers anyway, so this is why I would recomend the krd800-1, ease of use.

Check out you tube. If you know the models, you can search them on youtube of people giving reviews on them. What helped me decide was this older gentlemen giving a review on the 501 vs kr8 and he was spot on. not wanting to mess arround with juices, just gimme the vape/experience. kr8 all the way for that. Great for starting out.

@Dmass, how is the 401? I was eying that one hard too. I couldnt device between the 501 or the m401 so decided on the kr8 to start me out. Your thoughts on it?

I've been vaping for 11 months. My first was a 901 while waiting for my penstyle (801) to be delivered. I currently use a Silver Bullet with an 801 atomizer and a BB with a 510 atomizer. I like the 801 because the cartridges hold more liquid than the 901 or the 510. The model numbers refer to different styles of e-cigs or pv's. I prefer three piece to two piece, but I think they're easier to fill. There is a thread here somehwere that will show you the different styles. The Silver Bullet and BB are battery mods. If you have someone close to you that can show you the tricks of vaping, then I would go with a battery mod to start. It eliminates the dead battery'/always charging problems. If you want to start with something stock or kit, the 510 seems to be the closest to an analog (tobacco cigarette) and most of the battery mods support the 510 without the need of an adapter. I like the BB. It's about the length of a regular cig (king) before the atomzer goes on and about as big around as a nickel (U.S.). The final length will be determined by which atomizer you use. Most battery mods do NOT include the battery, atomizer or cartridge, but can be ordered at the same time. The advantage to starting with a kit is you get to find out whether this is something you can live with, without putting out too much money. Starter kits run between $35.00 to $50.00 USD depending on vendor and shipping.

What is the difference between 401/501/801/901,and I take it analogs are cigarettes?what are mods?

Have you read The Wonderful World of Vaping in the EFC Library? There are six posts in it, the first six posts on that page. It will probably answer most of your questions in a more organized way.

The model numbers are all atomizer styles. As for the differences, it's like the differences between VHS and beta VCRs (and *sigh* I hope you're old enough to get that reference). They all do the same thing: heat the liquid. But they are different sizes and perform differently. Each has pros and cons and which is "best" depends on personal preference. The majority of people here usually recommend either a 510 or a KR808 for newbies.

Mods are basically battery cases that have the fittings to screw in an atomizer. They use readily available rechargeable Li-Ion batteries instead of the proprietary batteries that are sold with most devices. Generally speaking (though there are exceptions), one can expect both higher voltage and longer battery life from mods.

The Wonderful World of Vaping does discuss different atomizer styles and mods in more detail.

I concur with MsSki, the 510 allowed me to quit a long long habit of smoking analogs! You can also get a PCC (personal charger case) that you can charge and take with you that will charge your battery 3 to 5 times while your on the go. You can also buy a cheap USB passthrough for about $15 to connect to your computer to use at home and save your batteries for while you are on the go.

Hello and Welcome jorswors! I started with the 510 but quickly switched because of the battery life. Since you are still new to all of this, I would recommend the Tornado/eGo. Same PV but sold by two different vendors. The battery life lasts, depending on how much you vape, from at least 6 hours to 12 hours. This PV is one of my favorites and others as well. Good Luck and Happy Vaping!
