Chad even has a warning about the extensions on the SB on the website. There are several products out there that have center posts that stick down to far. So IMO most important thing from your little misfortune is that folks that read this thread learn to ALWAYS check to make sure the center posts are the proper length before they screw new heads onto their nice PV's (an ego battery will just give you some light flashes, and then you throw it into the trash can if you do the same thing to it)
