I am looking for an rda with great flavor and clouds. It needs to be able to fit decent sized wire (24g and 22g). I am currently looking at the Kennedy 22 and it seems to be a good option but I thought I would ask before just going for it. I don't want to spend more than $150 for an rda and the only reason I will spend this much is because I want an authentic. I might buy a limitless mech mod so rda's that will work on a hybrid are nice too.

If I were looking to spend $150 on an it would because I was so happy with the design/operation of the clone.

I am not saying I want to pay $150, I'm saying that I will if one is suggested that I like, is good for what I want, and it were to cost that much that I would pay for it.

Twisted Messes, authentic is around $70(CDN). Fits monster builds if you're looking for that, decent juice well, large airflow with a really good afc ring. To this date, my favourite rda. The Velocity is also a really good RDA, I've only got a clone but I hear the authentic is around 120-130. The clone I have though is really easy to build on, fits nice large wires, and different options for airflow. These are just my 2 personal favorites that I can easily interchange from clouds to flavor really well by adjusting the airflow to fully open or tight draw.

What are you using now?
Do you single coil, dual, triple, quad...more?
Are you an over dripper? Do you build vertical coils or use mesh?
Have you considered a flat deck/well-less design?

Cheers

For right now I am just using a SMOK TFV4 tank, and sometimes a Vulcan rda. The smok tfv4 runs through juice and the vulcan is too tight of a draw and doesn't fit very big wire. When I do build on it, I use 28g (because that's all I have right now and pretty much all it will fit, would fit 26g too) and I build either single or dual coils. I like to drip a lot and not re drip too often. I build horizontal and vertical coils, usually horizontal. Haven't looked too much into a deck/well-less design, what would be the benefits?

RDA`s are very personal. If you have zero experience with them I would suggest you start somewhere in the middle, with a clone. Learn to build, and then decide what you like and where you want to go with them. I started out with most of the vaping darlings of the day, had a lot of fun, but slowly learned what I liked and how to build accordingly, always minding battery safety. I also learned how hot I could run them (meaning not only how hot I liked the vape, but how hot the mech/mod could get also), and what to expect. Becoming an advanced user takes experience, its not something you just jump into and master overnight.

My first RDA was a Stillare, and to this day it still pumps out clouds most of the darlings I bought since don`t or won`t. I`v boxed up a lot of those darlings, but the Stillare still has a place on a my good to go vaping shelf. And it is a $15 clone.

Yes sir.

I have tried a Kennedy and a few other high end authentics and all I use now are my Tobeco (Mini) Velocity and CLT2. Amazing RDAs and I paid under $20 each.

I personally wouldn't pay $100-150 for a RDA unless it blew my mind. If I HAD to buy an expensive RDA, it would be an authentic Velocity as I absolutely love building on the deck.

I do have an authentic Steam Crave Aromamizer RDTA and that also has the Velocity deck. Nowhere near $150 though.

My Vulcan is still one of my favorites also. Its got a .2, 22 gauge 3mm build in it and Iv done absolutely nothing with the air flow. I like its simplicity and the fact that it rumbles and never produces a weak vape unless its time for a wick change.

Edit, I would also add the Mutation v1 as a good starter, LOL. I just bought another one, they are simple, easy to build on, and again never produce a weak vape unless it time to change wicks.

I seriously think you should actually spend your money first to try out a few clones, because once you actually use a few drippers I think you will find yourself leaning one way or the other on the following types of design features/options:

1: side airflow, or bottom airflow
(and there is also a few with top intake, channelled down to side - eg: manta)

2: single coil friendly; most drippers are dual coil friendly

3: convention post arrangement versus innovative post arrangements
(innovative arrangement examples: aris, veritas)

4: ease of inserting coils: eg: magma, manta, velocity

5: chuff cap;
chuff cap makes for convenience compared to pull just the drip tip off, or taking the whole topcap off, which can interfere with your coil/wick or end up spattering liquid about.

6: post holes:
post holes make for ease of inserting coils.
magma, manta, velocity and many others have post holes; one downside is they use grub screws which require an allen key to tighten; the allen key comes with the rda.

my 3d has no post holes; you wrap the coil leg round the screw head and screw in with a small commonplace regular screwdriver

7: 4post versus 3post
For dual coil, it's easier to have two independent spots to connect the positive legs of two different coils.

The limitless isn't a hybrid. It has a direct-to-battery connection which is called "hybrid-look".
Hybrids have dedicated atomizers.

Hybrid RDAs do not have 510 threads and attach directly to the mod body.

I'm not-picking, using the wrong terminology will get you wrong answers, and can be dangerous when discussing mechanical mods.

This is a dual 1/4" ID, 14 wrap, 24G Nichrome 80 vertical build in the Velocity. Should be about the same width as a 12 wrap 22G build. It would have fit horizontally too.

Thank you very much for the picture and information, the velocity clone is now the one I will probably go with. How is the juice well? Can I drip straight from the drip tip or will I have to take the cap off and paint my juice?
