I've tried to figure out for sure which REO is the VV model. I'd like to get one if its available. Looks like it's the REO Grand?
Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the help.
Hi Dodar![]()
Yes, you are correct...two 18350s. Together, the mah remains the same....it does not double. Only the voltage is increased. Mine are 700mah.
I would LOVE to see a doctor prescribe a vaping device.Let us know if that pans out. It's always worth a shot.
...
Ah, one more question. I notice the VV uses 2(is that right?) 18350 batts, I suppose in the 800 maH range. ....
One word of advice, don't try to save a few pennies by buying something OTHER than the AW IMR's. They are strongly recommended both for their safe chemistry, and their ability to handle hefty discharge rates with ease. RTDvapor has the batteries (at least 2 sets) and charger, and is run by a fellow REO user/owner.
Well, after watching and reading all the things going on here on the REOs forum, and particularly following S_X_D's microcoiling thread, and y'all's corroborating comments and contributions, I don't know whether to run around in circles, or go for self-committal to "Happy Acres" coocoo farm and watch Twilight Zone or the county poor home, sorta.
Good grief everybody here seems positive and likes these things, a few glitches now and then but all seem to be solvable.
So, like many other folks, I've been the route with mods, VVmods, ViViNovas, etc., Evods, T-3s, ProTanks, etc. blah, blah. Ummm, they're OK but really not so hot. About a week ago when I first stumbled in here I had re-found my old "Old Goat" bottom feeders, 2 of them, that I had tried about 2 years ago. They were about $25/each and were a real deal as an entry level bottom feeder, but the atties I had made it dry hit city. Found 'em, cleaned 'em up and am using an old 2ohm Boge atty on 1 and a 3 ohm cartomizer on the other Old Goat unit. Hells bells, either 1 is as good or better than the evods and Protanks on VV I've been using lately.
Soooo, I'm trying to make a decision based on my cash flow situation now that I'm here in my less than golden years. I'm just now forcing my parasitic kids out of the house and get on their own and grow the H*)) up. I'm 73 and I wanna go fishin', if ya know what I mean, I'm sure ya do. Rescuing them has cost a couple of fortunes, but enough.
Egads, I just discovered y'alls RM2s. That's where I better start, I think ?, because I don't wanna waste more money on the regular type attys. The info on microcoiling convinces me I can do a coil/wick(I like cotton) to an ohm level it should work pretty well. I've used S_X_Ds idea on recoiling on several evod/protank rebuilds and do a 1.2/1.3 ohm coil fairly well. So I'm thinking get the RM2 first this month and then get the VV Grand or maybe just get the Grand fixed voltage, since I can wrap a coil/wick to a predictable ohm level pretty close. Would be using the RM2 on one of my Old Goat BF as it works ok only it holds only 3ml. and it is a bit rickety. It does use 510 connection ok. Then, next month, with SS and retirement in and the 2 brats out of the house, get the REOs Grand or the VV Grand.
Sorry this so darned long but I'm asking for y'alls input. Even the Old Goat rigs are tastier and better than the other stuff on which I've spent money like water.
Thanks, from now on I'll try to be concise rather than this epic length saga.
After a month vaping a e-cig looking thing I found the REO's. My daughter had started vaping the same time as me. I felt so bad for her when I had the Caddy of PV's and she was stuck on the same stuff. I bought her an Old Goat. She liked it and used it until she got her first REO.
The Grand will be enough for you. You said it, build low ohm coils. That is what I do on my Grands and RM2. On my VV Grand I just do standard coils. Frankly there is not too much difference in the vapor or flavor at the voltage I use. Just the opportunity to have more heat if I choose.
The Grand being mechanical is a no brainer. Easy to clean, works great, and not much in there to mess up.
You will be so happy to have the durability and performance the REO offers.
Sounds like a wise choice, starting with the RM2, the on to the mod itself. I can, without hesitation, recommend the Grand. What a perfect starter REO.
Ultimately after having the grand, its likely that you'll want another. Then you can jump of the VV grand
Whatever one you get, in any order, will knock your socks off.
And thank you for the compliments. I'm glad them micros are working as well for you as they are for me![]()
This is certainly NOT the longest post we've seen round these parts. Have no shame, dodari! Given the financial situation, I think you have a great idea. Certainly the Oldgoat was a fantastic entry level device into bottom feeding so folks could get the "feel" of it. As long as it has a 510 connection, you can use the RM2 on any feeding device. I'm positive when you have the chance to get a Reo, you'll be amazed at the difference.
