Oooooweee, I'm glad I asked! Thank y'all for replying and clarifying which model(s) are VV. I was looking at the Reo Grand(the one not VV) and would have really screwed up. Thank you all.

I like the black/red one on the first page of the VVs but the price is a bit more than I thought having looked at the non-VV Reo Grand. But I think it is still worth it. Have to wait on my next SS and retirement checks to kick in next month. RATS!!

I'll try to get my Doctor to prescribe it under Medicare/Medicaid and let Washington D.C. cover it.;) Suuuuuuuuure I will. Hell hasn't frozen over yet.

Ah, one more question. I notice the VV uses 2(is that right?) 18350 batts, I suppose in the 800 maH range. If it uses both, does the total maH available equal 800+800= 1600maH, more or less, or does it remain 800maH, nominally of course. I'm an old Civil/Structural Engineer not an Electrical E. To me electronics eludes me, I haven't much of a clue, might as well be honest about it.

Again, thanks y'all.

Hi Dodar :)
Yes, you are correct...two 18350s. Together, the mah remains the same....it does not double. Only the voltage is increased. Mine are 700mah.

I would LOVE to see a doctor prescribe a vaping device. :D Let us know if that pans out. It's always worth a shot.

So would I, but I don't think any of us should hold our breath just yet.

Thanks for the battery info.

One word of advice, don't try to save a few pennies by buying something OTHER than the AW IMR's. They are strongly recommended both for their safe chemistry, and their ability to handle hefty discharge rates with ease. RTDvapor has the batteries (at least 2 sets) and charger, and is run by a fellow REO user/owner.

I agree exactly. Had the experience about 2 years ago, and I was new to e-cigs, of having a Prodigy or whatever it was. Put 2 of the 16340 blue non-descript batts in to get up to about 7 volts. Went ok for a few days then one day it got hot, very hot, it fried. Thank god it was vented. Never again, no way on the cheap. Ends up more expensive if you're lucky enough to be around to complain about it.

Point well taken, thanks!

Well, after watching and reading all the things going on here on the REOs forum, and particularly following S_X_D's microcoiling thread, and y'all's corroborating comments and contributions, I don't know whether to run around in circles, or go for self-committal to "Happy Acres" coocoo farm and watch Twilight Zone or the county poor home, sorta.

Good grief everybody here seems positive and likes these things, a few glitches now and then but all seem to be solvable.

So, like many other folks, I've been the route with mods, VVmods, ViViNovas, etc., Evods, T-3s, ProTanks, etc. blah, blah. Ummm, they're OK but really not so hot. About a week ago when I first stumbled in here I had re-found my old "Old Goat" bottom feeders, 2 of them, that I had tried about 2 years ago. They were about $25/each and were a real deal as an entry level bottom feeder, but the atties I had made it dry hit city. Found 'em, cleaned 'em up and am using an old 2ohm Boge atty on 1 and a 3 ohm cartomizer on the other Old Goat unit. Hells bells, either 1 is as good or better than the evods and Protanks on VV I've been using lately.

Soooo, I'm trying to make a decision based on my cash flow situation now that I'm here in my less than golden years. I'm just now forcing my parasitic kids out of the house and get on their own and grow the H*)) up. I'm 73 and I wanna go fishin', if ya know what I mean, I'm sure ya do. Rescuing them has cost a couple of fortunes, but enough.

Egads, I just discovered y'alls RM2s. That's where I better start, I think ?, because I don't wanna waste more money on the regular type attys. The info on microcoiling convinces me I can do a coil/wick(I like cotton) to an ohm level it should work pretty well. I've used S_X_Ds idea on recoiling on several evod/protank rebuilds and do a 1.2/1.3 ohm coil fairly well. So I'm thinking get the RM2 first this month and then get the VV Grand or maybe just get the Grand fixed voltage, since I can wrap a coil/wick to a predictable ohm level pretty close. Would be using the RM2 on one of my Old Goat BF as it works ok only it holds only 3ml. and it is a bit rickety. It does use 510 connection ok. Then, next month, with SS and retirement in and the 2 brats out of the house, get the REOs Grand or the VV Grand.

Sorry this so darned long but I'm asking for y'alls input. Even the Old Goat rigs are tastier and better than the other stuff on which I've spent money like water.

Thanks, from now on I'll try to be concise rather than this epic length saga:).

After a month vaping a e-cig looking thing I found the REO's. My daughter had started vaping the same time as me. I felt so bad for her when I had the Caddy of PV's and she was stuck on the same stuff. I bought her an Old Goat. She liked it and used it until she got her first REO.

The Grand will be enough for you. You said it, build low ohm coils. That is what I do on my Grands and RM2. On my VV Grand I just do standard coils. Frankly there is not too much difference in the vapor or flavor at the voltage I use. Just the opportunity to have more heat if I choose.

The Grand being mechanical is a no brainer. Easy to clean, works great, and not much in there to mess up.

You will be so happy to have the durability and performance the REO offers.

Sounds like a wise choice, starting with the RM2, the on to the mod itself. I can, without hesitation, recommend the Grand. What a perfect starter REO.

Ultimately after having the grand, its likely that you'll want another. Then you can jump of the VV grand :)

Whatever one you get, in any order, will knock your socks off. :)

And thank you for the compliments. I'm glad them micros are working as well for you as they are for me :)

 This is certainly NOT the longest post we've seen round these parts. Have no shame, dodari! Given the financial situation, I think you have a great idea. Certainly the Oldgoat was a fantastic entry level device into bottom feeding so folks could get the "feel" of it. As long as it has a 510 connection, you can use the RM2 on any feeding device. I'm positive when you have the chance to get a Reo, you'll be amazed at the difference.

I agree with everyone above ^^^^. You probably don't even need anymore input, but I just wanted to jump in and say "Hi" and say that you're definitely on the right tract. Start with the RM2 --- you'll LOVE it. And the Grand is the mod for you, I'm sure. All mechanical, beautiful, sturdy, reliable. You may end up having other REOs (we all DO!!) but everyone needs a Grand. It's just simply the best mod in the world.....and with an RM2 atop it, it cannot be beat. Period.

Thanks so much you guys, I've got the antsies to order one today(RM2). Hope they take Visa, I've got PayPal but always have to have wife get the damned thing to go. Old Dog new tricks. If she has to help me then I get my ears burned IYKWIM. OUCH!

Hope the RM2 gets here next week. To be honest we've both fallen back to using analogs some daily. We live on the edge area of a Pueblo and get Cornerstones( a brand ) for $11.40 a carton, except with my BIA roll number it's about 8 bucks. NativeAmer/Sicilian family. Out of 73 years I've been sober and clean 33 years come June 21. Takes an engineering degree to be so brilliant right? My crow bar has more common sense than I do.:p Oh well.

Off to order the RM2.

Ciao. Amba(Lakota for 'bye).

Added: Also, a thank you to you, Jan. Grazzi.

OooooooBoy!! I went and did it. Gack!! PayPal, couldn't remember password for that. Sooooo, had to get my S.W.W.B.O.(She Who Will Be Obeyed) to do it. OMG, the cost. Not for the RM2 but rather for what she's gonna extort from me for this little bugadda.

I cried, I rolled, I yelled even screamed, I held my breath and turned blue(red and blue = purple?:)), I threw a fit, I made promises I never intend to keep, But, I got her to do it, order the stuff I mean.

Remember Kevin Costner in 'Dances With Wolves'? (Good movie based on dad's tribe by the way, sorta.) Well, there's gonna be a new saga with Ari(me) entitled 'Go Outside and Sleep With the Damned Dogs, you 1/2 breed-1/2 breed Guinea Schmuck!. I really got into deep OomGaGa this time.

I'll wait 'til tomorrow and contrive some story about how me, a mere country boy, fell prey to the influence of the likes of S_X_D, neraK, Rhapsodies, JC and others here and did it under peer group pressure. That oughta work. Maybe.

Then the RM2 will come and by following the excellent directions herein I will build a rig that is very satisfying and let her try it. Then she will insist she have one, I will show her I still rule the roost and that we are tight on $$ 'til the settlement is paid to us and, of course, order an RM2 for her immediately, if ever I want to be inside at night before winter. The dogs snore, I know from past experiences.

El condor pasa, as it is said.

Hey y'all, thank you very much. This should help me get off the analogs, finally, for once and for all. Mornings are my worst time, I'm vicious without nicotine, kinda like I used to be without my whiskey or horsey.

Sempre Avanti(Always Forward),

ciao bene.:)

Congratulations on a wise choice (and admirable maneuvering :) ).

RM2 + REO Grand = Gone fishing (so to speak). And don't hesitate down the road to give unflavored nic juice a try, it's cheap and readily available, you can vape for a month on what analogs cost for a few days.

Welcome to REOville, it's a happy place!
