Hoping someone has used backwoods brew cola and root beer in a polycarbonate carto tank cuz I want to try some. I love these cola flavors and I love tanks. The list below mentions tpa flavorings fogging/ cracking tanks so if anyone has had success/ failure with bwb please let me know. I had ave root beer crack a tank, but virgin vapor root beer float at 50/50 is fine. However, the flavor is a bit weak. Also vape-a-licious cola has been fine for me but I want to try kbv cola and others too. TIA

This List Comes Courtesy of My4Jewels from ECF In her own words;

UPDATE

My aim is to compile a list of juice and flavorings that may cause potential problems as far as cracking polycarbonate tanks. Anything listed here may cause your polycarbonate tank to crack. I am primarily focused on the polycarbonate tanks, although this info can easily apply to other tanks.

Bear in mind that different vendors may use different ingredients to make the same flavors. So, a flavored e juice you get from one vendor that is safe for yout tank may not be safe from another vendor, or vice versa. For instance, I have no trouble at all with VaporGod strawberry kiwi, but Mrs. T's strawberry shortcake can potentially crack your polycarbonate tank. Clear as mud, huh?

Some of these are premixed juices, some are flavorings that DIY'ers use. Contributions have been made by myself and other members. So far we have:

Any juice that has:

Sour flavors
Malic acid
Citrus acid
Cinnamon like "atomic cinnamon" types, not warm cinnamon like cinnamon coffe cake, this is okay ( sometimes )
Wintergreen juice or flavoring
TPA ripe banana flavoring
TPA honeysuckle flavoring
TPA maraschino cherry flavoring
TPA cherry blossom flavoring
TPA root beer flavoring
Mrs. T's strawberry shortcake, snickerdoodle
KBV Hummingbird nectar
mimosa(because of the orange)
cola(because of cinnamon)?
Vapor Renu Teaberry, cherry vanilla (possibly most of their flavors)
Vapor Renu Mt. Dew baha blast and Strawberry limeade
Oil based/e liquid that conains essential oils, when mixed with pg/vg, creates esters which will crack plastics
E liquids that contain triacetin, used in vg liquids to carry flavor more effectively
Vapalicious Gooey Butter Cake
Nutmeg
Clove oil
Mt. Dew flavoring
TPA Cinnamon Danish flavoring
Sassafras
Rawrvapor Hawaii Sunrise
TPA Vanilla Custard flavoring
Tasty Vapor Cherry Cola
Vixen Vapor Rootbeer
TPA Pineapple flavoring
TPA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream flavoring
Vaporgod Licorice
VAL Goddess
Mrs.T's - Danish Cinnamon Banana Coffee

I just noticed that Perfumer's Apprentice lists triactetin as in ingredient in some of their flavors, so be sure to check that out. With so many folks using tanks nowadays, let's all contribute here!!

Try the organic juices at Virgin Vapor. I'm still new to the tanks, but a ton of Annette's clients have been using em for ages with her liquids almost exclusively w no problems, and we love our vv organic juices. One girl, Tyleris12, uses VV stuff with her Lava Tanks, and those things are HARD to come by from what i've heard, so I don't think she'd keep using the liquids if it were killing em. I've used both her Sweet Summer Lemonade (which I'm sure has malic acid.. I don't think there's another way organically to get the lemon sour flavor, is there?, and Root Beer Float w tank and cartos for a while now with no issues. Also used the Menthol Moon Drops, and Mango Mint Julep, which I'm guessing have some sort of wintergreen/menthol flavors.

Question, are you talking about little tanks, like with CE2 CE3 Clearomizer type cartos, or bigger tanks, like with tank mods, or both? I'll definitely keep your list in mind with my noob forays into DIYing with organic flavorings, since I'm not experienced with it, so I don't wanna be cooking up tank acid w my flavors. ;)

Actually the virgin vapor root beer float is the one im using. But I had root beer from ave and it was much stronger but cracked the tank. I may try just straight up root beer from virgin. I actually know Tyleris, she suggests virgin to everyone and I have 5 lava tanks myself. The tube part is cheap to replace its just a PITA. I'm talking big carto tanks, and this list was not mine, just borrowed.

What causes a pc tank to crack?

I love BWB Root Beer and Cola, which is how I found this thread. I don't vape the Cola anymore because it wrecks a new cartomizer pretty fast, it seems to have an oil based flavoring (just guessing from visually observed separation in the bottle). But the Root Beer is super clean and my cartos seem to last forever with the BWB Root Beer. Not sure if this is relevant since I haven't used a tank yet...probably will soon though since I use two flavors about 95% of the time (BWB Root Beer and Halo Tribeca).

Madvapes Top Vapor Rootbeer worked well in my tank, no cracking....I was using the new v4l 808 6 ml tank...
But I'm kind of sick of rootbeer so I cleaned it out, put a new carto in, and now am vaping v4l's java mint in it....
So, rootbeer was in there for a few days, with no probs with cracks or wicking..
