How did you find wicks measured in ml?

I only rebuilt 1 evod head so far which didn't work right when I got it. I have two 1mm wicks in the coil which is a smaller diameter coil than I normally use because I couldn't get the right ohms crossed with no burnt taste without doing it that way. On top of that is a 2.5mm flavor wick.

I don't know if this is the norm since, as I said, something about that head seems disfunctional.

I do a dry burn on my Evod coil, but the flavor wicks are small and fall apart. My question is where do you buy flavor wicks?

I find it is easier to just bump up the wick size 1mm than it is to mess with the flavor wicks. My T3s heads come out of the box with a 2mm wick and two small flavor wicks. I find re-building them with a 3mm wick works just fine and is easier to dry-burn and clean without the flavor wicks in the way.

I use a piece of 100% cotton yarn for the flavor wick. Peaches & Creme white from Wal-Mart. The cotton seems to expand perfectly to fill the hole preventing any leaks or gurgling, while NOT choking off the coil and causing dry hits.

Does the cotton yarn come in sizes?

Not that I have seen. It looks to be about 3mm dry. However, once it gets wet it to be able to fill anything from a 1mm to 3mm hole with no problem. I roll it between my thumb and index finger to make it smaller if needed and it will then expand as it needs to.

When I do my cleaning and wash this yarn flavor wick and dry it by rolling it on paper towel it looks like it is only about 1-2mm thick but I reinstall it and fill up the tank and it poofs back out to fill the hole again.

Scott....do you boil the yarn first or not.....I have also read about people using cheesecloth.. I will have to check out a couple of different ideas cuz the 2mm wick I bought is too thick for flavor wicks..

I have done it both ways (boiled and not boiled). I don't really notice any difference either way, but maybe I am vaping something I shouldn't when don't boil. /shrug.

I've used 3mm silica, 3mm cotton braid and cotton cheesecloth. Of the three, the cheesecloth performs the best but it can be difficult to work with when it's dry. I always moistened my fingers with whatever liquid I was about to use in the tank getting the new coil. Then get about 0.5 mm or so and roll and fold until I got to about 3mm in width. Wrapped the coil to a resistance around 2.2 ohms, topped with a flavor wick of about 0.5 to 1mm. I left the pigtails as long as I could without letting them get tangled in the Evod or MT3S threads.

I stopped rebuilding coils weeks ago. Too much hassle for what amounts to a $1.25 head that can easily be replaced. While the stock heads don't work as well as the ones I rebuilt, the silica wicks in the stocks lasts much longer. With regular cleaning and normal care, I can make a 5-pack of coil heads last until the Zombie Apocolypse.

Well I don't make my own coils so using the 3mm wick is out....I will give the yarn or cheesecloth a try and see how it works. When I put the 2mm silica that I bought on there sometimes it doesn't vape right....kind of like it may be too thick.

Even on factory coiled heads, if they leak or gurgle at all I replace the flavor wick with that yarn.
