Hello. I am a new vaper, recently got myself V2 e-cig and I am quite happy with it. Seeing all those huge clouds on youtube I couldn't resist getting some more powerful equipment, so now I am waiting for this to be delivered Amigo Vogue 50w Kit - VapeHit (I hope it's a good one?)

When I got V2 I didn't know much about ecigs, I didn't know I have to replace the blanks and clean them and what not, now I am a bit more familiar with handling them. With the new ecig I suppose I will have to replace the whole tank as opposed to blanks in V2? For example with this one Amigo RIPTIDE Subohm Tank - VapeHit ?

I want to have spares ready in case atomiser gets burned, but I am not sure what should I buy.

Are you UK, @BanjoBenjo ?

I'm afraid V2 is just basic 'hyped' kit at a totally monstrous price. Avoid them and tell your friends. They are probably to top brand for just taking peoples money pretending they are the best ever in the entire galaxy.

You won't have to replace the tank, but you will have to replace the coils.

I am sorry to say Vape Hit are possibly breaking the law with their website. That's what is going on out there. So... when you get it... STOP shopping at these places. The replacement parts (the coils) are a total rip-off.

There are lots of good UK stores. You can do better. Your wallet will thank you too. :)

I second that. I used The Amigo two years ago and it probably had 5 times tge airflow of the Subtank Nano.

Good for clouds but miserable for everything else.

Yeah I am in UK, I can't drop £200 for a top brand e-cig so I thought V2 is decent in its price range. For future reference, which ecigs are worth considering? I could return that Amigo Vogue if there is something better :p

1. You don't need to spend much money. £50 will get you something great!
2. V2 just don't offer any sort of value for money. They are one of the original brands and just charge way, way too much and make out they are really special. They used to sell a £1.85 cig-a-like battery for £28 which just sums them up. They are barely keeping their operation going in the UK because experienced people do not like what they are doing.
3. The Amigo Vogue is basically a 50w internal battery mod (like an Eleaf iStick) with a sub-ohm tank like a Kanger Subtank. It could be good. It's not expensive for £39.95, but it's not an original product by Eleaf or Kanger; it's what we call a "clone". You can buy clone mods for under £20 and clone tanks for about £10, but that's from China so you save £10 but wait for 2-3 weeks.

Can you cancel? They don't offer much help with where to send stuff back (hence my comment about DSRs - Distance Selling Regulations) and it may work just fine, it's just difficult to know if you can buy spares, because they aren't exactly making it clear what you are buying... which ties you into their accessories, which stinks to be honest.

When it come to buying e-cigs, the #1 piece of advice is to AVOID BRANDS.
If a shop is selling Kanger or Joyetech or Eleaf or Aspire, then they are selling products made by the 'famous' Chinese manufacturers.
A BRAND is like Vape-Hit or Apollo or Halo or Vapouriz and most are selling cheap products for twice the price. Blu and E-Lites are brands too, but what they sell is so dreadful and so criminally expensive it really is a surprise anybody falls for this.

If it was me, I'd probably just keep the kit. If the coils (replacement atomizer heads) work OK, then maybe buy a pack or two just to get your money's worth.

If I buy anything made by Joyetech, I get it from Joyetech UK. Otherwise, you might have trouble with the warranty.

Joyetech E-cigarettes & Vaping Products | Joyetech UK

Other than that, there are lots of good shops these days. BUT... the shops that google will find for you charge more, make out they are really good and don't tend to be very good with customer service.

Myepack is still quite good.

dj is one of our resident experts for that side of the pond, he wont steer you wrong... the best thing you can do is reading and research. the more you know, the more you can avoid repeating mistakes... we've all done them before.
Absolutely!

See NO reason why newbies should repeat mistakes we already made.

Thanks Djs, very informative. I am still not sure whether am going to keep the Amigo or return, is this starter kit a better choice Wismec Vicino E-cig Kit and E-liquid

To be honest I didn't expect V2 to be scummy company, I saw a lot reviews and comments and I couldn't find any negatives, maybe I didn't research enough.

Also is there a list with recommended e-juice brands? I suppose a lot of them are overpriced junk disguised as fancy premium juice.

@Edit
I should have mentioned I am after big clouds, not sure if I can get one in my price range? (up to £50).

Wismec... yeh, OK, but just watch where you buy. Totally Wicked are making out they are doing you a deal at £43 instead of £54.
Well it is not a £43 e-cig for starters.
Funny how the same company will sell it to you for £32.... elsewhere. w.t.h ??? :-x

The reason why you can't find bad reviews on brands is because this is how the e-cig industry works. They incentivize reviewers, pay loads of money in commission and rig the internet with the help of specialist e-marketing companies who can sell 4 apples for £20 by basically, well, lying.

Now. Premium e-liquid. Yes... you are correct. Some UK companies selling premium e-liquid are just selling junk. It costs 20p to make and they sell for £4.99 or even worse.
Can you imagine this happening with coffee or biscuits in the supermarket? They would not sell anything and nobody would buy it as it's just so obvious what's going on.
Premium doesn't really exist. It's just the opposite of dodgy/nasty/don't care what we put in it.
Either they use cheap nicotine and flavors (some do) or they simply use the normal stuff usually with more VG and still charge a flippin' fortune.

The only liquid you might consider premium is the imported US stuff and the small UK juice companies. If a big brand shop is calling it premium, you can more or less guarantee it's the opposite. I'm not talking about Totally Wicked by the way.

I would maybe give the Vicino a try for £32. It's a bit like the old Eleaf iJust2. If you put a 0.3ohm coil in something like that, you get almost 60 watts, which is nice and cloudy.

I kind of like the iJust2 but it was not 'set' to a particular power... which made it frustrating. The battery drains and so does the vape.

One idea would be to buy a mod (75w single battery or 150+ dual battery) and get a serious sub-ohm tank that genuinely does 50,70,100 watts.
I don't vape tanks above 35w really (I use RDAs) but the original Uwell Crown 0.25 can do 60-80w easy. There are more powerful ones now too. 100w easy.
I'm getting two more Uwells from China as they won't be legal in the UK from May next year.

Welcome to ECF! There is a lot here to read and there are a lot of different directions to go in the e-cig world. Knowing that you want the "clouds" and your budget helps us to help you.

Already, you are making contacts that are familiar with your location, stay in touch. If you give a general location, it would probably help them to help you. It helped me to just sit down with another vaper that had honest interest in helping me get going.

I guess my bit of advise is to stay away from a salesperson. They want money first. Keep talking to those here to learn about the pitfalls.

Good luck to you!

Thanks all :)

I've ordered the Wismec Vicino kit, will see how it goes. Requested refund from ukecigstore, gonna return that Amigo Vogue but based on trustpilot.com reviews it will be difficult to get anything from them, I will try to dispute the payment with my bank. Phew if only I saw those reviews before buying from them, would save me a headache.

Good luck with your refund. 2 years ago I would have called your chances as nearly zero. They used to be the worst company for customers service.
Look at those reviews. Hundreds of very unhappy, very cross people giving one red star.

How can this be? The modern world eh... a company that has upset almost everyone still manages to be the #1 vape store because they pay Google to be top. Astonishing.

it's sad really... word of mouth from fellow hobbiests is the only safe reviews etc ... nothing else can truly be trusted any more.
Sad but true. I was furious when Google knuckled to China's denabds to filter out tge Links China found offensive.
