Packaging doesn't ultimately matter, just like the plating of food doesn't ultimately matter; however, I have never met a real chef that throws food on the plate and says, "here ya' go". It is about tapping into all the senses, to provide an experience before the destination. Yeah, I would vape (and have) out of unmarked bottles, but I like care taken in all respects, not just one; plus, I like attractive forms with substance inside.

+1

Like you will be more attracted to a bottle of Absolut Vodka rather than one of those plastic gallon cheapos... packaging does reflect even before trying the quality you expect. I said before this is fairly a new industry and we ALL are early adpoters, but the battle just begun and to conquer a bigger audience of "non believers" packaging besides other things will play an important role.

Nice!! they could only get better with glass bottles

They actually do offer glass bottles on the drop down.

I think that packaging goes hand in hand with how the vendor cares about your total experience with their product. Pretty/Attractive things just make it all the better.

I live here in New Orleans. It's a city pretty well known for its food. I've also been to other cities where they are known for having fine cuisine as well. In these other cities I've often been served food on a very beautiful plate. It's usually enough to feed a five year old and typically isn't very good. Maybe you like decorated plates and fancy packaging.

I will stick to a steak that is about half a pound, cooked to perfection and served in a dive over a decorated plate any day.

I think packaging matters if you care a little about aesthetics. To each their own. You don't have to. I'm a musician. While I don't market it or anything, I get a little perfectionist sometimes in it's presentation. If someone wants to hear something, I kind of want to present it in the best light I can. A song remains the same, but it can be sloppily done at times. Same goes with any other product.

It is important to me to have glass not plastic bottles. Virgin Vapor and Copper Creek use glass. I don't care if the package is cute. I want it wrapped well enough not to break during shipment. I do also order from a vendor that uses plastic but I change it into glass the minute it gets here. I don't want the chemicals in the plastic leaching out into my juice.

Vermillion River also uses glass bottles and the juices from them I have tasted aren't too shabby...only got one super perfume like one that i am letting steep to see if it gets better.

Yes VR has glass and I am sure there are some others that do also. I vape 100% VG juice so I can't order anything from VR. Have seen great posts about some of their juices though.

I don't even understand why anyone would review or care about packaging??

Backwoods Brew has about the least attractive packaging of any juice vendor I've tried but his juice is the best. He could sell it to me in a plain plastic bottle with the flavor written on it in a sharpie and I'd still buy it.

I never said "fancy"--that is your word--but, I did say "packaging doesn't ultimately matter." However, why negate one sense over the other? Hell, why cater to any sense? Who needs taste, touch, smell, hearing or sight for that matter? Why cook the steak to perfection? You don't need that for sustenance, right? You want a steak cooked to perfection because you are trying to satisfy a sense that can be satisfied through a particular experience.

I will stick to a steak that is about half a pound, cooked to perfection and served in a dive over a decorated plate any day.

p.s. Plating isn't a "decorated plate," you know? There is no need to create a false dichotomy between highfalutin fluff with down-home authenticity. I will say it again, I like attractive forms with substance inside...but, some not so attractive stuff in the world is tolerable.

I think it's pretty safe to say that most people prefer substance over style (or rather taste above appearances in this case), when it comes right down to it, but that's not really the point.

When we are talking about the secondary characteristics of a product, like aesthetics, we are questioning whether we would prefer that perfect juicy steak served on a dirty styrofoam plate with a broken spork or a perfect juicy steak served on a heavy gold-rimmed white china charger with gleaming silverware and a good sharp knife to cut it with and a fluffy baked potato on the side.

Same steak, different presentations- I'd choose the more aesthetically pleasing, more easily consumed one, the one that goes beyond just the steak and throws in the nice potato on the side, and if I get still more choices, I'll choose to have it served to me by a server who smiles a lot and doesn't spill anything on me.

Well, if you talk like that, who wouldn't smile wile serving you? Although, the smile won't make the steak taste better...or will it? haha

The plating is your device. Everything else is the packaging that the food is delivered to the kitchen in.

Pretty packaging costs money. Money that is added on to your cost. As long as the mailer is well padded and the bottles well sealed, after that really? I mean really?

Don't get me wrong, I like things that look nice. I have enough art/collectibles to make for an annoying insurance premium here, but what my juice comes in? As long as it's clean and safe, I could care less.

I could not care less if my juice comes in a "pretty" bottle, but I sure do appreciate it when it does.

Look, I said that I vape out of unmarked bottles, and I said that packaging doesn't "ulitmately matter." I did not say that "plating" was packaging--I was suggesting that certain products presented to consumers could have some extra care taken to be visually appealing. Am I the only one in this thread who has made a claim about enjoying packaging?

p.s. I am an artist so I do have an affinity towards aesthetics. When I ship my art to a patron, I package it as if the patron does care ...whether they do or don't.

p.s.2 This is such a goofy debate! If packaging doesn't matter at all to some of you, why did you ever respond to this thread?

Both bottles contain the same juice and unless you are a bottom feeder, I believe the choice is simple.

I like how Halo and Prime Vaping are packaged, as well as the taste. For one, I do like my bottles to look pleasing to me. I've even changed liquid from one bottle to a different bottle for this reason. That said, it is great they both have tamper resistant plastic on them. I also really like the darker bottles. I try to keep e-liquid in dark place but sometimes I use a couple at a time or forget and leave bottles out. The darker color bottles keeps the direct light from e-liquid.:)

I think creative packaging is an added perk. It's not exactly a required "have to have", but hey, who doesn't like the fact that a vendor they use took an extra moment to do a little creativity, or a handwritten thank you note? Ms. T puts a couple of pieces of candy in her popcorn filled boxes and nice sturdy ziplock baggies.

As to bottles, I think glass bottles are beautiful. Especially the blue ones. You get no argument from me there. I have to be realistic though....I am a total klutz, so if it can be broken...I'm going to totally destroy it somehow. I don't mind the plastic bottles. I am a stickler about decal tags and logo's on the bottles though. I like the ones on Ms. T's Bottles and I think Vapedudes have an awesome one. Who doesn't like a cat skull???? :headbang:
