I keep looking at my order on Wizard Labs website but it's just sitting there in "processing" status.

While I wait, I thought I'd ask a couple questions and confirm some assumptions.

First, My goal is to reproduce the gingerbread flavor I get from a online source (TVR.) It's not very sweet, so at the time I didn't order any sweetener which was maybe a mistake? I'm guessing you can't just use splenda or some such. Has anybody ever tried that? It seems like it would work.

The other question is about my interpretation of the "super simple" mixing method and how it applies to what I ordered.

Namely 250 ML of plain 100% VG, 250 ML of 60mg nicotine base in 100% PG, and some gingerbread flavoring.

So, If I want to make a 10ml test batch at ~30mg nicotine:

5ml 60mg base
3ml VG
2ml gingerbread flavor

My assumption is that this should yield something like 30mg nicotine in a lightly flavored juice at something close to PG60/VG40 (assuming the flavor is suspended in PG)

My research says that few single flavors produce great results. That's subjective and will vary by individual and flavor, but overall seems to hold true. Most recipes call for additional background or complimentary flavors, sometimes sweeteners, etc. I know nothing about their gingerbread flavor, but I'd guess it won't meet all of your expectations straight out of the bottle. The cure for that? I dunno. You might find that mixing GB from two different manufacturers will provide the perfect recipe. You may also find that you need a little vanilla, or maybe some essence of smurf feet. (What the heck is in gingerbread, anyhow?)

Flavor percentages vary by both flavor type and manufacturer. 2ml of gingerbread flavor in a 10ml mix? At 20% that flavor might be great, or it might burn your nose hairs out. I'd start a bit lower and smaller to see if you're in the right neighborhood. I mixed up a bunch of samples at 5% in plain PG to test appropriate flavor levels, no nic or VG added, and have found several that do very well at lower numbers, and many more that need higher concentrations. The Cinnamon Danish I ordered is a perfect example. At 5%, it made my eyes water due to an overpowering cinnamon flavor. OTOH, plain blueberry was nice an mild at 5%, barely more than a background note. It will need a 10-15% flavor level to act as a stand-alone flavor.

Your calculations are mostly correct in this instance (it should come out to a 70/30 mix). To make it easy on yourself when you start adding multiple flavors or changing nic / pg / vg levels, you should download one of the many calculators or spreadsheets that are floating around. If nothing else, it'll provide a safety check to your mental calcs, and it'll give you an easy way to store recipes.

Sorry, I can't help with the sweeteners.

Thanks!

I'm assuming using splenda instead of sucralose would gum up the works because of the bulking agents they use. I ordered some sucralose form Amazon because I have prime free shipping (It's probably already in my mailbox).

I have some plain old vanilla extract I can press into service, but I think it's in alcohol base. Will that work? I guess what I mean to ask, is.. will regular old baking-isle flavorings work? (McCormic springs to mind) Or, is it just a better idea to order thorough e-juice oriented outfitters?

BTW: Cavediver, your nic gives me the ever liven' creeps. I'm a recreational diver with a night cert, but every time I even get close to a cave or hole I start hyperventilating so bad that I usually have to bail out. I'm glad that there are guys who can do it, but it freaks me out that some of you "like" it.

That's a lot of Sucralose probably enough to last many lifetimes!

Vanilla Extract with Alcohol will work in very small amounts like one drop per 10ml, but it might not be strong enough. Many of the supermarket bought flavorings have a lot of extra ingredients added that are not good for vaping.
