PCs that make a high pitched noise usually indicates defective capacitors on the motherboard. Could be your problem, too? At any rate, Ed is exactly right . It's not worth trying to diagnose or fix or wondering if it's OK to use. Too cheap and too much of a possible danger ahead. Unplug and have a funeral for it.
