7 months 4 days 8 hours says the quit app on my phone.

I started to help make me less phyco in the 4.5 hours between work breaks. They allowed ecigs.

I was vaping one day and suddenly realized I had gone 30 hours without a cigarette and didn't noticed. Passed on my roller and tobacco, cigs and cases to another smoker and never looked back. Later I converted them too.

I can go a LOT longer without a vape then I ever could with cancer sticks. I now smell like watermelon most days. And I Lost 8lb with the help of an apple strudel vape. vape your snacks. Lol. I couldn't be happier.

I was a 40 year very heavy smoker. I just stumbled into vaping. Saw something in a pop-up add and started researching. That research led me here to ECF. I didn't intend to quit when I started...just hoped to cut down some. Never thought it would actually work for me. Three days later, I had my last cigarette. That was 18 months ago.

My story is a little different. 15 years ago I would smoke a pack and half a day. Then slowly I just decreased on my own. Right before I started to vape I could buy 5 packs of cigs and have it last me a week. Well my son really got into the vape thing and I would try his flavors with a higher nicotine level then I smoked so I kind of blew it off. Well one day he brought me to this tobacco store found out I could drop the nic level went down to 11 (he was at 18) I was hooked. Literally the vape tasted better then my cigs. I bought 3 different flavors. Got a cheap mod and after that I was down to 3 cigs a day. I had just re upped my cigarettes. It took me awhile to get through them but I vaped the whole time. I would light a cig and put it out cause it really tasted like crap. I was about a month into not having a cig and my son decided to up grade to a different Mod. He gave his Vamo II mod batteries he had bought for it plus the charger. I found the receipt last month he paid almost a 100 for the set up. I kind of had sticker shock! He told I am giving this to you mom cause you stopped smoking completely after 30 plus years. I knew it was coming but not this way. I am glad though that I have this option. I am thinking about going down in nicotine levels hopefully by my birthday in May (My Goal at least) Only one of my stores right now lets you choose what nic level you have in your juice. Plus I pay more for that. Some places in MN either have 24 18 12 6 then 0. Quite a big jump there to me. I guess I just need to buy a bottle of half of what I am used too and see how it goes. I am so glad that I did this! And blessed to have a son that introduced me into this world!

Peace,

Mushroomie

Me!

Hubby brought himself a starter ego kit while I was out of state visiting family last summer, and begged me to give it a try when I got back, so I got one just to pacify him. I kept smoking for about a week after that, then just quit without even really thinking about it. I still crave a cig when I'm drunk, but I just chain vape thru it.

I never planned on quitting. Heck, I'd been known to use the word 'cigarettes' and 'pry out of my cold, dead hands' in the same sentence. But I'm a nurse and didn't want to smell like smoke during work. I'd tried cig-alikes in the past and (hadn't worked) but I happened to pass a new vape store and bought a basic ego set. Much to my shock, I haven't had a cigarette since that day.

Another one here! :)

I fully expected that I would die a smoker, with the attendant oxygen tank mask in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Not that I liked the thought, but I was pretty much resigned to it. I loved smoking and never even tried to quit (well, once I did--2 years after I started. It lasted a month, then I never looked back. For 28 more years).

I figured if I died from some smoking related illness, that's the choice I made.

Never imagined I'd not be smoking 24 hours after my first decent set up after trying disposables just to see what they were all about. It was a total surprise, especially since I never intended it to happen.

Unfortunately I have to say that I am sicker now than when I was smoking, and that's a very sad fact. I felt much better when I fell off the wagon a couple of times, but at that point I was just determined to stop because although I felt better, the act of smoking didn't "do it" for me anymore. And, my illness won't go away if I start up again, so there's no point. My ecig vapor feels better and for sure tastes better, and I know in many ways I am much healthier.

It took almost 6 months to completely quit, but now I'm done and I'm really glad that I am, regardless of any other problems that have cropped up. I honestly wish I could say I feel 100 times better, that I can run 3 miles a day or that I sleep better and all that. Hopefully one day I will!

I expected only to use vaping as an alternative when and where I couldn't smoke and didn't plan to quit smoking entirely.

But once I bought my kit I never smoked again except for one slip (3 puffs of a Marlboro "silver"... that almost made me throw up). I don't see how I will ever smoke again, that "slip" was worse than my first-ever cigarette.

I too had no intention to quit smoking. My sister forced an ego/T3S combo on me, which I tried giving her back several times before ever using. Late one evening after a great wedding reception, I ran out of Reds. I tried the ego, and it worked! So the next day I thought I'd try to use it until I couldn't take it anymore. Needless to say, I've never smoked another cig since that night.

Me. Near the last, I was smoking a PAD to 2 PAD. I had been a smoker most of my adult life...something like 45 years. Although I knew I was smoking way too much, I had no real plans to quit. Then, a relative showed me his new eGo 1100maH batt with a PT topper. I was intrigued and thought that maybe vaping would help me cut down on my habit. I immediately purchased an eGo style starter kit. I went from nearly 2 PAD to 8 cigs in 24 hours. I continued to smoke for the next few days, on and off, gradually reducing my intake to 2-3 cigs per day. Then, one day...10 days after I started vaping...I forgot to pick up my morning cig, picking up my vape gear instead. That was September 9, 2013 and I've never looked back. I had never intended to quit smoking but merely to cut down. Quitting cigs was almost unconcious on my part. Since then, vaping has become an integral part of my life in a way that smoking never was. Right now, I'm vaping at 18 mg, but may try to cut that down soon. I'm in no hurry tho. Vaping saved my life and I am quite happy with being right where I am right now.

I bought a cig-alike kit to cut down. I thought I was being wildly optimistic to think that I might be able to cut my 2 1/2 pack a day smoking habit in half in six months time. I quit after my first vape because I vastly preferred the taste of vaping and never had cigarette cravings.

I was fortunate in that my cig-alike worked properly, I liked the flavors I got and the nic level was high enough. I also had the good sense to buy better gear immediately so the cig-alike groundhog day battery charging didn't drive me completely round the bend.

While I'm thrilled to have had such a painless transition to vaping my heart goes out to those who struggle.

Count me in this crowd too!

43 years of 1 1 1/2 PAD, and rolling my own the last few years just to afford it (yeah, and sticking it to da Man was bonus too ;))

Like so many smokers, knew the choice I made every time I lit one, and pretty well resigned to the 'cold-dead-fingers' thing too.

The week before Thanksgiving I stopped by my local tobacco shop for supplies, in preparation for a 600 mile roadtrip to New York City that night.

It was a rare moment, but I had some extra time and decided to tell the guy at the shop to go ahead and tell me about the e-cigs they had displayed.

That led to tasting, and experiencing the 'hit'. Hmmmm, okay, that's pretty good for a fake cigarette

I bought the basic kit (2 ego style bats and 2 generic clearos) which was just $45, a few bottles of juice (tobacco & coffee flavors).

My expectations / hopes were: 1) satisfy my curiosity, and 2) save some money

This was an overnight drive and going solo, which would have normally been at least 1 full pack of cigarettes. Not this time, did it on just 6.

Over the next 10 days I started reaching more & more often for the vape, until 1 day I had had only 1/2 a .... from the ashtray (which I happen to really like those for some weird reason!)

I mentioned this to the baritone in my barbershop quartet (also a smoker), and he said "why bother?" Those baritones are so smart!

That was it and I was done with the tobacco burners!

No cravings for the butts, and thoroughly embracing my new life! Taste, breath, smells, stamina, no STINK, etc etc etc etc.

Now I advocate at most every opportunity to simply raise awareness of this wonderfully fantastic gift of new life.

And one last thing: take a few minutes to pop over and get your free membership in CASAA!

Look around and see what's happening in the latest efforts to fight those who wage war on our free choice to a healthy life!

This is the reason I will never dog Blu Ecigs, I can be realistic and say it's not the greatest product but I will never attack it like some others do. I picked up a Blu starter kit last year to cut back on cigs. I figured I'd smoke the Blu at home and when I was out I'd smoke cigs with the rest of the world. I figured at first I'd go as long as I could without a cigarette and after a couple of days with no cravings I was sold on vaping. I ordered a volcano inferno and my plan turned to "I'll use the inferno at home and the Blu when I'm out". Now I'm exclusively using my inferno everywhere and I'll be picking up a mod of some sort for the house next. I still indulge in a cig or 2 here and there, but I can confidently label myself a "vaper" now, and more importantly a non-smoker. I'll probably never touch a Blu again, but I owe them the credit for introducing me to vaping and being good enough to not turn me away from vaping.
