I really had no desire other than nagging and cost to quit smoking. I enjoyed it even though it was bad for me. I picked up my 510 mainly because in the long run it's way cheaper than buying a pack a day $8+ where i live. My logic was that if quitting analogs is a side effect of pv then great hope it works (I had my doubts). In the past i've tried cold turkey, patch, gum each time no success. The funny part is i think the patch's & gum cost more than analogs themselves at least it seemed that way to me. All ended with the same result i'd quit for a while and be right back smoking or having a cig to calm my nerves cause not smoking was making me an irritable ........ Since i got my 510 I've tried analogs on 3 different occasions each time worse then the other. I don't think I'd ever go back to traditional smoking even if they banned ecigs, I'm sure we could get around it somehow.

It's my opinion that if they ban ecigs then the argument of healthy or not never mattered, it was all about the dollar!!! There are things way worse than ecigs on the market that are FDA approved, analog cigs being one.

No. Didn't think it was possible for me. Just wanted my nic in a safer form. But as you can see below, its been nearly 3 months since my last analog. NOW, I MAY cut back on the nic eventually, maybe even to zero but I never expected that to happen.

All I wanted was to get rid of cigarette smell from my breath and my close.
See, my family knows that I quit 8 years ago but I still was smoking at work, while fishing, walking the dog and so on... when I know it will be enough time for smell to dissipate.
I was an underground smoker, very frustrating.
Switched to VP without an intent to quit smoking but I did on the very first day and at 100+ days.
I am still an underground vaper.
One day will come out of the closet, one step at a time...
I got news for you, it doesn't dissipate enough for your wife not to smell it on your clothes - unless you do all the laundry. She was just nice enough not to call you on it and probably glad that you cut back. Now she does probably think you have quit.:D

I wanted to quit (again after being 2 years smoke free) but didn't want the weight gain. During the 2 years I was analog free I managed to gain around 30 lbs. When I started the e-cig, it was with the hope that I could quit without the metabolism slowing down to "starvation in the desert" mode. Now, 2 weeks into vaping & zero analogs, I am still loosing the excess weight that I gained from the 2 years off. Problem solved!

Yes I did purchase intending to quit analogs. I got a crummy first e cig, but still managed to quit analogs. Then I ordered the 510 and what a difference. I now have the 901 also.

I intended to quit because of all the same reasons listed.

Health
Cost
Taxes
Children
smell
stigma
inconvienience
etc.etc.etc.

6 weeks smoke free.
smoked for 29 years, two packs a day the last few years.

No.
The thought did not cross my mind and I felt there was no way I would quit. I bought my first PV with the intent of getting into something healthier (after 18 years of cigarettes @ 1.5 packs a day). Only now after 3 months of no cigarettes and all PV, I can say quitting is in sight. Heck, I'm actually putting together a quitting plan along with a bunch of other healthier alterations to my lifestyle. I'm really digging this!

I am sorry, but I do not believe for a cold-hearted second that none of you guys picked up this electronic device not to quit. This was the whole gimmick. This was the enticement. This is what all around us propose and advertise.

I was smoking 2 packs a day, sometimes more. I LIKED smoking, it relaxed me. That, and being a smoker was pretty much all I knew, as I've been smoking since I was 10 years old. But it was getting bloody costly. So I heard about, researched, asked questions, and purchased my first ecig - all the while having NO intention of quitting. However...I noticed that 3 days later, I still had a couple analogues left...that I had purchased 4 days before (a record for me!). I smoked those up, but only because after all, hell, I paid good money for the damn things. After those were gone (and it was work getting through them), I didn't feel a need to purchase any more, and so I haven't. I'll never go back to analogues, I know this. But I absolutely had no intention whatsoever of ever quitting analogues. It just happened that way for me. Now...where is the little happy dance smilie?

I have tried to quit before using the usual NRTs. They never worked for me. I'm a pack-a-day smoker(2 on my days off). I was checking on my FaceBoook account and have seen this little ad on the side for an electronic cigarette(SE). I see it several times and everytime I just chuckle and mumble to myself, "yeah, right another quit smoking gimmick". Never bothered to click on it due to my preconceptions.

Then I got bored and decided to click and see what their "gimmick" is. After seeing the vid, it peaked my interest as more of a novelty gadget - and i like gadgets. Looked it up and my curiosity lead me here. Since then, I've bought three PVs and happily vaping to my hearts content.

I did, I'd been smoking for over 20 years and I was sick of it, I was also sick of knowing that I probably wasn't going to be able to quit without going through hell, as soon as I'd done some research (mainly here) and saw just how many people had kicked the habit I was sold on the idea/concept of this amazing piece of kit.

After owning my Titan for less than two days I smoked my last cig, I'm only a week into this but I feel ten times better already...best money I've ever spent and probably the smartest move I've ever made.

I guess I would have to say I wanted a cheaper method of getting a shot of nic, I'm sick of paying $10.00 for a pack of analogs, also wanted less pollutants in my body. When I first found out about e-cig, which was about a month ago, I thought, this would be good, after 25 years of putting tar to my lungs, I can get a little nic without the crap smoke and quite a bit easier on the old pocketbook. But oh, lo and behold, Health Canada has banned retailers from selling, maybe in a few years when they have there kickbacks in place and charge 4 X as much.
So I go online, found one place where I can get a 901 or 801 from a CA seller, at the same time I put a want ad on Kijiji for an e-cig. An ex-smoker calls me up.
"Hey bud I've got a Janty jkby305 here I'm not going to use anymore."
I got it all, with juice, getting some vape out of it, but not great, so I go to Janty website, figure I'll try a new atomizer, don't see the part, so try to find out which atomizer, have to have an order #, or we can't take your question.
What the !%@$, How can I order if I don't know? Do all the atomizers fit the kb?, don't see any kb part #????
Any help would be appreciated.
Rick

I've tried quitting many times over the years. My wife knows she should quit but, like me, lacks the what it takes for whatever reason. We've done it all as well, to no avail. I like smoking, I do. I loved to roll my own shag and puff on nice cigars. I loved to try different tobaccos, cloves, you name it. Funny thing is I do the same with alcohol. The only difference is that I don't drink all the time and certainly don't need a drink to get me though the morning, let alone the day. My wife just likes smoking plain and simple. So this has all the makings of a perfect solution for both of us. She can puff away and I can still enjoy the social and experimental aspects like I loved to do with tobacco on top of just getting my nic fix. I hope our last analog is while we're waiting for the batteries to charge.

Yes... Other methods hadn't worked because I missed the "act" of smoking... I would try to get past it by using a pen, lollipop's, and even a straw in my mouth while using "actual" smoking cessation tools-
I just started getting used to the lozenges, they didn't burn like they did when I first got on them but I still needed to "puff & blow" and hold something...
I always told my husband if they could make something that was like a cig I could use it and quit-
Wala! I found e-cigs! It'll be 2 weeks tomorrow since I got it and from being a pack and a half or so a day... I have only had like 4-6 cigs a day the last 3 days after coming down little by little and still decreasing even more... The kicker is... I use a very low strength nicotine and sometimes 0 mg nicotine. So, I have decreased my nicotine intake as well- Maybe once I get past the feel for a cigarette (nicotine) I can actually quit altogether.
This morning was the first morning I didn't run out to get my analog fix as soon as I woke up w/ my coffee (which has still been my ritual cigarette)
I have accomplished a lot in 2 weeks!
