Holding off for now. The "only run one app at a time" thing makes me want to avoid it. I have the iTouch now, but it drives me nuts that I can switch between apps without losing all progress in whatever game I'm playing.

iPod Touch 3rd gen seems to support it too but sadly, us 2nd gen Touch and iPhone 3G users are going to miss out
Pre-ordered The 3G version on Friday. The new OS later this year will allow multitasking.

I have the 3G version on pre-order. I can't wait to get it. Not a lot of Wi-fi around here, so the 3G is a must. $30/mo unlimited is pretty cheap too......
I will mostly be using it for web browsing and being on ECF on the go and for that it looks excellent. If anyone finds a definitive release date for 3G, please post it here.........

I sure thought about it, but have a fujitsu lifebook convertible w/win7. Wife explained I can have two years of mobile broadband for what the mid range 3g ipad would cost, and she's right.

i might pick one up when they actually add a camera and memory card slot, so maby in like 2 generations.
Bought the Wi-Fi version on Monday. 64 gig. I'm mainly planning on using it around the house and on short business trips. I'm actually typing this on my iPad right now while on a plane to Philadelphia.

I went to BestBuy 2 days ago, and picked up the iPad, and returned it the very next day!! It's friggin CRAP! Minus the friggin BS 15% restocking fee!!!
THE main reason I returned it, NO FLASH/JAVA!!! I got the thing thinking how cool will this be to be able to watch my TV/Movie streams on this thing? Or to be able to play some online games on Facebook? (and others)
DENIED!!!
And of course there is that requirement to use iTunes, there is NO memory card slot, no camera, nothing, it's just a big crippled iTouch. Oh yeah, if you can't/don't buy it through iTunes, you can't have it!!!

In portrait it's not too bad. Thumb typing on it is possible, but I have to reach a little further than is comfortable at times. In landscape I can type on it just like a laptop keyboard, but only if it's at just the right angle on my lap and I look at the keypad while I do it. Basically, it's far from perfect but much better than I expected it to be.
You must have long thumbs......Almost every review I have read had lamented the fact that thumb typing was impossible. Knowing your high standards, it's good to hear you are enjoying it.

Were you really unaware that the ipad does not support Flash as well as your other complaints?
I was wondering the same thing. It is mentioned every time the iPad is discussed............
