I have 4 KGO/SLB batteries and I have been using them non stop for about a couple months now. Ive only had an occasional pin getting pushed down, and its an easy fix. I was wondering how long they will last with proper maintenance and care. I know that they are simply a rechargable battery so eventually they will no longer hold a charge. I wonder how long anyone here has had one last?

Seems to me this would be largely variable, though I am no battery expert: length and intensity of use would affect life, frequency of charge, how/when they are charged, what equipment you attach to the battery... etc.

I have had 3 eGo's in rotation since Jan., and 2 KGO's in rotation since March; all are still chugging. I had heard that 8 months was a general life expectancy for these kind of batteries, though I cannot remember where I received this figure.

I've used eGos rotated in pairs for almost two years. They usually have a half-life of around 4-6 months. That is, the point where they last half as long as they did new. It's usually not long after that that I will replace them due to the inconvenience of frequent change/charging. I will hang on to a pass thru a little longer as an emergency back up.

Another factor is that they tend to have a power drop off at the end of their capacity. That gets more troublesome as the capacity diminishes over time.

The more batteries you use in rotation the longer they will last. I have seven 14650 protected ICRs that I use in rotation. This works out to using each battery one day a week and charging them all once a week. Needless to say I've been using these batteries since November of last year and they all work like new.

A better way to determine how many recharges a battery can do is to simply count the number of charge cycles the battery has been through.

so how often do you charge them?
I rotate the Kgos. Put one on to charge each morning while drinking my coffee & vaping. Although my Kgo batt will usually last me 1 1/2 days, I Usually only run it 1 day then charge it.
BTW I have a spare charger & a spare batt in my emergency vape kit. You know "break glass only in the event of an emergency". That day will come I'm sure. But when it does I won't have to wait 3 days for a new batt or charger to come in the mail.
