Well that is part of my point in asking. Are the skinny tubes really more likely to split? I've never had it happen. Not saying it doesn't happen but why have I not had it happen. There must be a reason Robert changed to the fat tubes. Perhaps I should PM him for his answer. In the beginning he wasn't selling the rebuild kits and extras. Maybe he did see some tube issues.
Although I'm pretty gentle handling my REOs when filling and cleaning maybe I'm more gentle than many others. I love old things and antiques but they are expected to stand up to daily use and they have to be tough enough to survive a house full of rowdy GIANT puppies and dogs. I'm pretty OCD about the way I clean and store my clothes, shoes, etc. When I wash I separate by not only colors but weight and finish or content of fabrics. Many things go into fabric bags. And I've always used front load washers as they are less stressful on clothes, rinse better, and of course use much less energy, water, and cleaning products. Leather shoes are rarely used days in a row. Even though I have a dirty, cluttered, messy house I still take pretty good care of things that need special care. Leather, shoes, boots, tack are kept cleaned and oiled, most things. So I guess you could say I'm selectively OCD. I'd put any of my well used Wood REOs up against others same age and use. They may be swimmers but they are prepared for that.
