Just Me. But I really think if there was going to be a Problem with that Battery that it would have Occurred by now. And Wouldn't pop up out the blue the 1st time you turn your back on them.

Would I attempt to Charge or Use it? Absolutely Figgin Not!
Would I put in in the Trash? No.

But would I put it back in its Original Packaging and wait for an RMA Number? Sure.
I can get lucky and cross the street blindfolded and not be hit by a car, don't mean I am safe to do it or that I can't be hit. Without knowing the extent of defect no way to be certain

I can think up all Kinds of Analogies also. I just Question the Applicability of some of them?

I've gotten all my batteries, probably 20, from IMR & never had a problem. But that is kinda scary! I'm sure they'll make it right. So I agree w/zD, back in its original packaging and wait for an RMA Number & replacement.

Supposed to properly recycle and not add to the contaminated landfills or have it short out and cause a fire in the garbage truck.

I didn't mean that literally....sorry . I meant that it was going in an empty trash can in my bathtub. I'll bring it to my work battery recycling program

fasttech, Ebay or that shady gas station that sells 40 amp efest batteries. I usually buy my batteries from a shop that I know sells authentic (I've never got a cloned cell yet) batteries simply because I'm impatient. Please recycle that battery if you're not going to return it, not only are lithium batteries bad for the environment they're also dangerous.

No worries it'll be recycled [emoji4]

it's really unknown. Could it simply take a weather pattern change and change in pressure or maybe humidity change or maybe nothing. To me it is akin to always treating firearm's as if they are loaded. Better safe than sorry

That's why I went home in the middle of the day just to put it in a safe spot

That's exactly what they are. Yes, I have a pro vari 2.5 that uses them
This is just my own opinion and preference, but I have a few sets of the red AW button tops that are exclusively for the Provari 2.5's in my collection just because that was what Provape recommended and sold. You can get the shorter ones at provarifuel.com right now, and they are working to source the longer 18650's for their webstore. I think folks have given you links to other places that sell the red AW's as well. The 2.5 was designed to work with the true button top AW's and that length could be important in keeping it running for a while. I took some side by side pictures so you can see the difference between an AW and Samsung.

I have regular flat top 18650's for everything else. Batteries are not that expensive that I think it is worth the extra money to get the right ones for the job and just have a few extra sets around.

without knowing the extent of defect maybe it could dead short itself maybe there is very little in the way keeping the positive post separate, I don't know by just looking at it. Maybe some humidity would do it again don't know. But if you can manage the risk of personal or property damage rather easy why wouldn't you

I just went home and put it in my bathtub just in case

Not my first choice of where to put it, but if you do, remember they're in there before a shower or anything.;)

I'd agree with @dobroeutro , put it back in the original packaging and send it on back when you have an RMA. They might not even want the return, in which case your plan for a battery recycle drop off is the way to go.

Is there any point where you start to Draw Lines when managing Risk?

I mean, should the OP put the Batteries in a Lipo Bag and then have a friend drive Her to HomeDepot while she man's a Fire Extinguisher? And then carries the Batteries into HomeDepot wearing Nomex Gloves and a Full Face Shield?

No one showers in that bathtub [emoji4].

I just felt better having it in my bathroom. Just in case. It's probably fine but I don't want to risk getting battery acid all over my woman's cave

Batteries are something I don't really price shop. I found illumn does seem to have very competitive prices and good quick shipping.

"WOMANS CAVE" now that's a new one on me, but I sure don't want you to get battery acid all over it either! Sounds painful!!!!!
