so obviously, im new to the e-cig scene. The idea had peaked my curiosity before and i knew better than to try "Free offers" or "Trials" so i went poking around and found MistressNomad and Cozzcon on youtube. i smoked a pack of Camel 99's watching ALL of their respective videos and now I'm convinced that the e-cigarette is the method for me. Personally, i love and hate smoking all at once...well let me rephrase.. I LOVE smoking but i hate smoking cigarettes.

When it comes to cigarettes, though, I have a serious fit every time i run out for more than an hour or so. That was a bit in depth but i think now you might understand why the e-cigarette idea is so appealing to me.
After watching all the videos and looking at various suggested vendors tho I'm still unsure of exactly what i should spend my money on (i can spend a bit but i by no means "have money"). I took the little quiz things that MistressNomad has on her blog and being one who has a passion for tinkering and a pretty heavy habit it reccomended mods and cartos. from what ive read/saw i would have to agree. the idea of mods really peaks my interest but im more in the market for something easily modded. I get the feeling that the eGo might be right for me, but with all the options and whatnot im a bit lost. When i make a purchase i would like to be able to kinda do it all at once equipment wise. I realize it would be a bigger size cart but i hate ordering one bit at a time...
Wow, that was long winded but, damn, im all fired up about this idea :) any input would be greatly appreciated
OH, and thanks for making this forum, i can already see myself geekin on it for hours ;)

Welcome to ECF. The nice thing about the eGo ( besides great battery life) is the number of options you have. It can be either a three piece unit or a two piece unit. I liked that I could try atties with a cart or dripping or cartomizers. I enjoyed finding the combination that worked for me. For someone who enjoys tinkering and experimenting with different options this is a good choice. You could include a couple of atties (Mega, non Mega) some cartomizers (Mega, non Mega) and have fun checking them all out.

I Just got an ego, and could not be more happy. i picked up the kit with 1000 mah batteries and a personal charging case. so i dont have to worry about charging my stuff for 3 or 4 days. and it all cost about as much as smoking for 2 weeks. I dont think you can go wrong with the ego unless you want someting that looks like a cigarette.

I'm not too familiar with mods but mad vapes has quite a few and a DIY mod section to fulfill your tinkering needs.

took the little quiz things that MistressNomad has on her blog .

For price considerations the eGo is reasonable, reliable and then you can spend more
trying different flavor, strength juice, different attys, carto, cart mods, filler options.

I also tried the quizzes, and came up mods and carts, and I am seriously considering
getting a mod. Currently I'm using an eGo and a pass thru which takes care of battery
issues and produces great vapor and taste. Just starting out IMHO you can't go wrong
with an eGo, and decide on a mod when you know more of what you actually want as
features on it. I'm still not sure if I want variable voltage, high voltage, button placement,
looks, size, weight, ease of dripping, ease of adapters, etc ........
(I know the older veterans are laughing, thinking just get one of each!!:laugh:)

The only ones I use are mods. 5 volts is an ideal power level for many of us long time vapers. If you like to solder, then the MadVapes suggestion is a good one. They have the parts for making a 5 volt box mod and tutorials on how to do it.

If you want to buy one first, there are many good choices but two that have received positive reviews are the GLV: Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor and Ken's Box Mods: Box Mods. I would suggest you also look at this summery site of many different mods: Best e-Cig Mod List | e-Cig Mods Database

Based on what you smoke, I strongly suggest you get 24mg nicotine strength liquid to help you make a successful transition to vaping. Too many new vapers start out with liquid that is too low in nicotine strength.

Good Luck

Order any of the more popular starter kits that might appeal to you and get your hands dirty first. If you want to narrow down a little, choose one that uses the same atty or carto as the mod you think you want. That way you can reuse some of the hardware and have the base kit to fall back on. Also get sample packs of juices that add up to a total of 30-50ml so you have some fuel to work with LOL.

Once you see how this stuff works first hand, I guarantee you will make better choices on mods.

For sure get extra ejuice and atomizers with your starter kit. I bought a third battery as well. I went with the Joye 510, helped me quick for several months. I just started smoking analogs again a couple weeks ago, so i am looking to reorder some more e cig stuff. I didn't use my e cig for a few months and then i got sucked back into the nasty habit of analogs :( I am reordering and just found a site www.ecigstoreonline.com on google, and it says grand opening and 10% off... Looked like they had good prices but i have not seen or heard any reviews on this site, and I usually only buy from vendors on this site. Anyone have more experience?

All good advice here. I would say, if you were asking me personally, to get your feet wet with an Ego or Riva kit. They range in price from $40 to $60 depending on the vendor.

If you find that E-cigs work for you, then start looking around for a good mod if you want something new. I've got a couple of Egos and a couple of Rivas and have been jonesing for a RoughStack mod from Madvapes. But for now the Egos and Rivas are sufficient.

Getting started with the right equipment is the easy part. Finding the right e-liquid is the hard part. You can pretty much take the recommendations for a good supplier to heart, but no one can recommend a juice that they like-- and guarantee that you will like it.

well if you decide on an eGo..myfreedomsmokes has them on sale right now for 47$

To get the 20% discount, you'll need the coupon code of "smoke" or "freedom."

Here are other two other sites for a great eGo 650mAh kit that you'd most likely be very happy with. Seems to be the best deal at this time.

Joye eGo 510 (650mAh) - Standard Bundle (8 choices of colors - all in stock now - ships from CA):
Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Joye eGo

Use the 20% discount coupon code of ECF to buy this kit for $51.96 plus $2.99 shipping.

Litecigusa.net also has eGo 650mAh kits for $54.95 plus $2 shipping for orders under $75. They are my favorite parts supplier. No discount but they have a rewards program for future savings. Ships from PA.
