Unless they knew someone or had access to information beyond mass marketing, I would guess that the vast majority of e-cigarette users started with cig-a-likes ...failed, probably, due to their inherent battery limitations ...then quickly moved to an eGo size device. Beyond that, you get a smaller portion of the overall vaping population who move to more advanced mods (enthusiasts) and an even smaller portion who move to mechs, rebuildables, etc. That is the typical progression.

Got the 2 blu disposables in mid May then bought the kit (still have AND use). Went tobacco free and haven't looked back. A week later I got an eGo kit with clearo's, some juice and a few packs of carto's. A week or two after that got a couple vivi Novas, then a Vamo and some Pro Tanks. Last week I received some vapemail containing a USB passthrough, Evods, new coils.

Now I'm waiting on more coils, more Evods, some small juice bottles and some adapters so my tanks fit better on my Vamo.

I feel healthier, but I sure as HECK haven't saved any money yet.

Yep. I started on Blu disposables then bought the premium kit with rechargeable batteries and replaceable carts. I like them when the battery is VERY newly charged and I use a brand new cartridge. After several puffs, the magic goes away. That's why I decided to go to the next level. I just got my Ego-C with the 1000mAh and I went with a Kanger EVOD. My aim is for a big mouthful of vapor but some of the juice I chose is too harsh. I like the Ego-C and Kanger and just ordered 2 more Kanger EVODS so I would have more flavors waiting on deck. I guess it's a game of sampling the juices to find a good fit. I just learned that the glycol used may play a big part in the Vapor production I am looking for too. Like I said, confusing stuff.

I know I started with Blu but was looking for more so I jumped into the unknown....Still trying to figure this all out

I decided to get an auto cigalike and some nic juice and try it. I only bought one battery because I didn't know if it would work for me. I did minimal research, mostly trying to find somewhere local to get something. After two days I was still cigarette free, however the auto battery was getting hard to suck on and not working reliably so I ordered an Ego 900 mAh kit. In the meantime I found ECF and within another week I had ordered my first VV twist. Ordered another twist, then managed to hold off for three weeks before ordering a Vamo V2.

Currently still using the Vamo and the twists, but also have a China GG and a K100. Also upgraded to CE5 clearomisers with the first ego kit, progressed to Vivi Novas, a Phoenix RDA, Cobra RBA, etc. Currently liking bottom coil devices, Protank, Vapeonly, Evods.

Went from nothing to Vamo in four weeks, a steep learning curve but it was necessary for me to progress this way. Nearly four months cigarette free, and still learning.

Stick around and read. The ride is a blast.

I started with a Halo G6 and went through 3 Blu disposables while waiting for my shipment to arrive. Within 2 weeks I got a Vision spinner 1300 mAh and some clearos, and now also have an ego-c twist 650 mAh for out and about. I'm satisfied with my setup right now and really don't have any interest in mods or anything like that. I think I finally found my all day vape juice, so now I'm just trying different clearos, looking for the perfect one. I might actually start saving money over analogs now! :)

Started with Blu as well - got the whole charging case and everything. After bouncing around with disposables, I settled on an eGo Twist (have 2 now). I'm in love with the eVod, but recently they've been tasting rather plastic-y right out of the pack and haven't tried to rebuild myself yet. Still looking for a reliable, low-maintenance delivery system.

Other than that, all my money's been going to finding that all day vape juice. It's a project.

I also began with stick batteries. I started vaping and using ecigs towards the end of 2009 when there weren't so many options. It was either a battery, atomizer, mouthpiece setup or two-piece battery and cartomizer. As I got further away from smoking analogues and vaping became more of a hobby, technology was getting better. I got into eGo batteries and whatnot, then graduated to a mod. Honestly, my favorite vape for public use is still my trusted 808 battery with a carto. Sure, I have to carry at least a couple with me, but I don't mind. For traveling and home use, it's my mod and some kind of tank system. I pretty much only use my eGo twist as a secondary device.

I started with Blu also and ended up switching to Twists with Vision clearomizers (the ones with replaceable coil heads, not the "throw aways").

Yeah, Blu is overpriced, underpowered, and looks better than it works. But it got me started and didn't cost any more than the cigs I would have smoked. So... not too bad. Trying to find a replacement for it got me to ECF so it worked out. :)

I started with a Blu disposable and then tried a coworkers V2 menthol. I ordered a 2 battery V2 started kit, one auto battery and one manual. Liked the manual better and started looking into vaping. Currently I have 2 Volt X2 passthroughs as well as the original stick batteries from V2 because Volt was compatible with the 808 threading. I am expanding into clearos now and like that much more than cartridges, but have founding that cartridges are good for on the go since they don't leak!

Technically I started with Blu I guess ... a friend let me try his and I didn't care for it much, it seemed kind of weak and airy and there wasn't much vapor... kinda felt like smoking a cigarette with a tear in the paper. Maybe his battery was weak, but I didn't know any better, I just figured it wasn't for me. A year later my stepson let me try his clearo (Kanger T2) and that was a lot nicer. I ordered the same setup he had (from Vape Dojo), and vaped it for about a week before I caught the bug. That was about six weeks ago ... since then the mailman has been beating a steady path to my door with different juices, batteries and other goodies ... eVod, Smok RDA, Did mini clone, Kanger Protank (several), Vmod, ATI and RSST RBA's and arcane implements of alchemy like mesh, wire, ceramic wick and whatever else my wife will let me buy. Does this ever stop?
