I agree....if you don't have anything constructive to add, then leave.....that is the crap that jams up the boards and makes some of the posts tedious to go through!!!

In the case of this thread, an opinion was asked. That should allow for discussion of all points of view around the topic. Sorry that I added my opinion and feel free to delete it if need be.

The sad truth about all forums is everyone is a "fanboy" to the admin/admins opinion. :(

These threads crack me up! I want what I want and I want it now, screw these rules and screw this forums success rate! I'm new with questions but I don't want to be stuck being helped in the new members area even though i'm a new member, i'm more important than that LOL!
5 posts! 5 little easy posts and it's such a major inconvenience? A person can't be supportive 5 times and say hello to 5 new members? Wow LOL
I have received more and better advice right here in the New Member area than I have anywhere else except when trying to talk to a vendor! 5 posts being supportive of other people is outrageous and a waste of time? How about giving something instead of demanding it? Better to give than receive?

I have seen this many times. "Hi I'm new here and I don't like the rules".

I don't care all that much as it's a non issue for me at this point. Since the question was asked though I added what I thought.. It's not that big of a deal no.. So far everyone in this thread feels a little too touchy.. Are you sure you're ordering the proper dosage of e-juice. :)

Jeez...really? The simple answer to this is : Because the owner of the Forum WANTS it that way.

This isn't YOUR forum. Nobody is duct taping you to your chair and forcing you to interact exclusively within this site. It is a forum for information sharing and communication among individuals with similar interests or at least a similar current interest. Like all organizations it requires rules and a system of regulation. You may not LIKE the system that has been put in place, but again, IT ISN'T YOUR SITE. It was built, registered, and hosted by someone else. It is THEIRS to do with as they see fit.

If you don't like it? Create your own forum, set up the rules to your liking, and don't bother with this one. That's the beauty of the internet. Otherwise simply be grateful that the site exists, adapt to the rules in place, and enjoy it as it is.

What is it with people thinking sites like these should be some sort of democratic republic, in which they should have a say in the operation, when they didn't do a dang thing in the creation of, purchase of, or promotion of the site??

No....you stopped being constructive with the " " That is just rude and you obviously don't appreciate the help that is being given to the new members who really WANT the help from those more experienced.....as for the "fanboys" of admin.....I can't agree with that....I do appreciate what Elendil has to offer to the posts when he shows.......He is also very helpful....he could sit on the sidelines and just police the threads, but no....he gets involved and I have yet to see a post that he has not been gracious and polite.....not once have I seen the "" from him. So admin fan....not necessarily, but I do like what this particular member of the admin has to offer!

This quote alone tells me you haven't read a whole lot here if you think everyone is a "fanboy" of the admins (me in particular)

There is a reason this forum is the #1 source for ecig info and discussion in the world, bar none. Our goal is to make it as an enjoyable experience as possible across the broadest range of membership possible. Will every member be happy with every rule? Of course not, but in this case, this particular rule helps everyone even if they do not realize it.

If you have any forum experience at all, I'm sure you are aware of forums that are fraught with ads/spam at every turn. Not an enjoyable experience at all. We have virtually none of that here. While there are software solutions available to help fight these issues, the plain fact is they are not as effective as what we have in place right now.

LastoftheBreed wow get out of my head! LOL
I was just sitting here thinking it is easy to criticize the way others manage their own successful business while standing there with their hands in pockets shuffling gravel around with their feet! Something totally different to actually make something for all the people while trying to make it neutral enough the majority will have a good experience!
Moderator Fanboy? No! A person who has respect for the information and structure and hassle free way this site runs? Yes!
Not my 1st Forum but for sure one of the best run spamless forums I have been a part of!

The rolleyes is a typical forum smiley. Not sure how that is out of line or ends all constructiveness.

the smiley did not come through....just the words...and all I could think of is how teenagers do it all the time to their parents....I was guilty of it...and it was in total disrespect.....and on a lighter note, had my mom EVER seen me do it....I would not be here to enjoy the entertainment:)
