OTD & TV, thank you!

I got my Swedish snus. Thunder was my first try, and it hit me like a ton of bricks. It was too strong at first ... wanted to take it out, but I was driving and didn't know what to do with it. Then it settled down. The claws in my chest relaxed. Wow. I needed that!

General Dry Mini Mint quickly became a favorite. I like them in stereo.

Knox, I found pretty nasty tasting. Maybe I'll soak them in a good juice rather than waste them.

I can't thank you enough. The relief is so welcome.

e-cigs ... my quest continues, but on my journey, it's such a comfort to know, immediate and lasting relief is available in Swedish Snus.

Thank you so much!

Rick.

The snus is a life saver no doubt Rick. But it remains to be seen how much of a favor has been done for ya.

I mean, now you have to order a bunch of new snus in the search for your personal favorite. Credit Card.....

And then of course, snuff could eventually snag your curiosity and once again, CC, ka-ching! :D

So you finally paid attention to TV's tapping feet!

Wireguy, you've been paying close attention, and are a keen observer of detail!

Yes, OTD, ka-ching indeed. But I can't be broke ... I still have plastic!
BTW, what would you recommend for snuff?

Yes you did, Rick. And badly. For me, it's hard to describe the relief to someone who hasn't been there....I knew you understood :). Welcome to the Dark-Side, Mwaahahaha........

I'm enjoying the Dark Side :|

But it's only a temporary stop-over (I hope)

Thanks again to OTD & TV and everyone else who encouraged me to try Swedish Snus. :D

For me too :). I think my brain will be fixed sometime next week. My mechanic says lobotomy parts have been getting back-ordered since last Fall, but thanks to government bail-out money, along with manufacture incentives, he thinks he can retrofit some off-the-shelf kunuter valves that are already in the pipe line for me. Let's keep our fingers crossed :).

Oh yeah.........you're not going anywhere soon, Rick ;). And let's remember, to be able to give up tobacco and resume a normal, functional life is the way to go, if possible. But, some can't and these smokeless products are like manna from Heaven. There are a few links around here to studies on smokeless tobacco health risks and more links from those. Seems to me this route is safer for us, who need more than a little nic to get by, than any other, including what a doctor can do :).

I agree, TV. And what can a doctor do? Well, the only thing they are trained to do ... perscribe toxic chemicals. In order for a drug to be approved, it must have an "LD-50" rating. What most people don't know is that LD-50 means "Leathal Dosage, 50 percentile". People treat doctors like gods, when in fact they know nothing. When a new perscription (toxic chemical) is released, the acceptable death rate seems to be 15%. Less than that, it stays on the market. More, and it gets pulled.

Our medical profession is in bed with Big Pharma, Big Tobacco, and Big Government. It's sad that our doctors don't even know that they are puppets.

I could go on and on, but ...

I will indeed ... that is, if I can figure out what to do with the stuff! I mean snuff. :D

Is there a tutorial on "Snuffing for Dummies"?

Thanks,

Rick.

I've as yet to find one that I thought was useful rick.
But really, wadda ya need to know aside from take it a shove it up yer nose! ;)

How to snuff:
Place a bit of the snuff, about the size of an apple seed on the web between your thumb and indexfinger.

Or, an actual pinch of snuff is the same amount, pinched with the index and thumb, outer edge, towards the very ends. Very slight grinding/rubbing of the thumb and finger when inhaling rather than simply opening them up.
An actual pinch can require a little more forceful inhale so take care when starting out.

Inhale this LIGHTLY! Just barely enough airflow to pick the snuff up into your nose.
You want it to end up in the front of your nose, not all the way back in the sinuses.

Or, as suggested by snuffin on snuffhouse.org:
"What I do, is breath in till I fill my lungs completely just before I sniff so the sniff is extremely gentle, if hardly at all. Once I've taken the snuff into either side of my nose I simply breath out through my mouth then give another sniff of the nose just to make sure the snuff is secure. If there is any snuff left over on my fingers, I simply sniff that as I please because I've already got snuff coating the inside of the lower half of my nose so the rest has something to cling onto rather than shoot straight to the back of my throat/into my sinuses. Give it a try and I think you'll have a decent result with that."

Storage
Airtight food storage like from farberware or Sterilite. Inexpensive really, $2 to $6 depending on size and place of purchase. The ones that have an actual gasket and some form of positive/mechanical locking mechanism. Out of direct sunlight, cool is better, NOT in a refrigerator.

Thanks for the tutorial, OTD! I was picturing myself spreading out a line of snuff on the table, putting a straw in my nostral and sucking like mad. LOL. But somehow that didn't seem right.

Then I thought of DVap's .... method, but that didn't seem right either (yes, I know he meant it as a joke, but some folks took him seriously 8-o).

Perhaps a new adventure in the wierd & wonderful world of analog replacement is about to unfold for me. I don't expect to find anything that will actually replace analogs fully. With the 500+ chemicals they add, including amonia to freebase nicotine straight to the brain, I don't think anything else could. Unless of course we were willing to add the amonia and other chemicals to our substitute (e-cigs, snus, snuff), which I am not willing to do. I wonder if there's a special spot in hell, reserved for Big Tobacco, Big Pharms and Big Government? ;)

Hopefully you'll be surprised rick. Snus is what did the trick for me, snuff is more decadent pleasure with benefits ;)

Just the same, there are quite a few folks who have kicked analogs with snuff, adding snus as an afterthought.
