Whoa! That's a lotta vapor!

So I'm sitting at my desk with my li'l G6 USB pass-through, I screw on a LR carto loaded with a 2:1 mix of Tribeca and Torque and... damn! I'm getting these huge clouds of vapor, almost comparable to what I see in Youtube videos where guys are showing off their crazy-looking mods. The pass-through passes through <ahem> the full output of the USB port (which I measure at just under 5V unloaded) so I'm sure that has something to do with it. I just took the carto over to my workbench and measured its atomizer resistance at 2.2 ohms.

There's really no point to this story 'cept I wanted to share my joy at getting such an unexpected result from such a humble setup :)

Oh, you're definitely right about that. But it's my computer at work and I don't care that much about it :)

I do intend to get a high-current 12V-5V adaptor so I can use the pass-through in my car, though, and I think I should look into a VV or VW battery. Besides the Triton, what's available with an 808 thread? I've accumulated a lot of 808 cartos and clearos and I don't want to change to a different threading yet.

Why not invest in a vv battery as you said like a Twist, Winder or Spinner and grab an adapter to use with your prefilled cartos ? 510 to [KR808D-1/DSE901] Adapter

Excellent suggestion. Thanks!

A Triton battery (fixed voltage, not VV) just arrived in the mail and I'm getting a really hot vape from it even though its specified output voltage is the same as the G6. Actually, I'm reading 4V, but since that's unloaded and I don't know if it arrived with a full charge or not, I can't really draw any conclusions yet. For sure, a bigger battery isn't gonna sag as much for a given load - but it sure looks/feels goofy after using a slender cig-alike for several weeks ;)

Yep, at first the larger form will feel strange , but I think that should pass pretty quick. It did for me going from an eGo stick to Vamo which seemed HUGE at first.

I cringe at the thought of shorting out my USB port... Same idea as those USB coffee cup warmers. USB was never designed to heat coils! Anyway, that's just my :2c:

Speaking from experience (both first-hand and working with computers so long) you have a better chance at shorting your USB port out with most off-brand keyboard, mice, or flash drives on the market.
